የመንግስት ከፍተኛ ፍርድ ቤት 4ኛ ወንጀል ችሎት “ህጋዊ የፖለቲካ ፓርቲን ሽፋን በማድረግ የአሸባሪ ቡድን የሆነው ኦነግ አባል ሆነዋል” በሚል በተከሰሱት በአቶ በቀለ ገርባ የክስ መዝገብ ውስጥ ሚገኙ ግለሰቦች ላይ ፍርድ መስጠቱን የዜና ዘጋቢዎች ከአዲስ አበባ አመለከቱ። በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ አስተማሪው አንደኛ ተከሳሽ አቶ በቀለ ገርባን ጨምሮ ኦልባና ለሊሳ ፣ ወልቤካ ለሚ ፣አደም ቡሳ ፣ ሀዋ ዋቆ ፣ መሀመድ ሙሉ፣ ደረጀ ከተማ ፣ አዲሱ ሞክሬና ገልገሎ ጉፋ የቀረበባቸው ክስ “የኦሮሚያ ክልልን ከፌዴሬሽኑ ለመገንጠል ፣ የአሸባሪ ቡድን የሆነው ኦነግ አባል በመሆንና ኬኒያ ድረስ በመሄድ ወታደራዊ ስልጠና በመውሰድ” የሚሉ መሆናቸውን ዘጋቢዎች ጠቁመው ፍርድ ቤቱ ውሳኔ ከመስጠቱ አስቀድሞ ተከሳሾቹ ለፍርድ ቤቱ የተለያዩ የፍርድ ማቅለያዎችን ማቅረባቸውን ዘግበዋል።
በዚህም መሠረት በመንግስት አቃቤ ሕጎች “የአሸባሪነት ክስ” በቀረበባቸው ላይ አንድም ጊዜ በነጻ ፈትቶ የማያውቀው በሚል የሚተቸው ፍርድ ቤቱ በተከሳሾቹ ላይ የሰጠው ፍርድ የሚከተለው ነው።
1ኛ. አቶ በቀለ ገርባ – በ8 ዓመት እሥር
2ኛ.ኦልባና ለሊሳ – በ13 ዓመት እስር
3ኛ. ወልቤካ ለሚ – በ7 ዓመት እስር
4ኛ. አደም ቡሳ – በ3 ዓመት እስር፣
5ኛ. ሀዋ ዋቆ – በ8 ዓመት፣
6ኛ. መሀመድ ሙሉ- በ 10 ዓመት እስር
7ኛ. ደረጀ ከተማ – በ8 ዓመት እስር፣
8ኛ. አዲሱ ሞክሬ – በ10 ዓመት እስር
9ኛ ገልገሎ ጉፋ – በ12 ዓመት ፅኑ እስራት እንዲቀጡ ወስኗል። በተጨማሪም ተከሳሾቹ ከሁለት እስከ አራት ዓመት ለሚደርስ ጊዜም ህዝባዊ መብታቸው ፍርድ ቤቱ መሻሩም ታውቋል። በቀለ ገርባ በተለይ ከአቶ ቡልቻ ደመቅሳ በኋላ የኦፌዴን ፓርቲን ጥሩ ተፎካካሪ ያደርገዋል ተብሎ የሚጠበቅ መምህር ነበር ሲሉ የሚያውቁት ይናገራሉ። መኖሪያ ቤታቸው ውስጥ ተደብቆ ተገኘ በተባለው መትረየስ እና ባዶ ሠንሰለት ምክንያት“የተንኮል ድርጊቶችን ግዙፍ በሆነ ዓይነት ማሰናዳት ወንጀል” በሚል ክስ ጭምር የተከሰሱት 9ኛው ተከሳሽ ገልገሎ ጉፋ ከ1984 እስከ 2002 ዓ.ም የኦነግ አመራር አካል የነበሩ ሲሆን በ2002 ዓ.ም ግን ከሌሎች ከኦነግ አባላት ጋር ሆነው እጃቸውን ለመንግሥት ሲሰጡም የኦነግን ዓላማ ኮንነው ሃገር ቤት የገቡ መሆናቸው ይታወሳል።

In spite of rapid growth, corruption keeps Ethiopia mired in poverty

July 11, 2013, LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) – “Bankers, miners and developers presenting projects to investment committees in countries that fare badly in corruption rankings frequently struggle to get investment. Corruption raises red flags because it makes local markets uncompetitive, unpredictable and therefore largely hostile to these long-term players,” Ed Hobey, the East Africa analyst at the political risk firm Africa Risk Consulting says.
In the biggest crackdown on corruption in Ethiopia in the last 10 years, authorities arrested more than 50 high profile people including government officials, businessmen and a minister last month.
Among those arrested were Melaku Fanta, the director general of the Revenue and Customs Authority, which is the equivalent rank of a minister, his deputy, Gebrewahid Woldegiorgis, and other officials were apprehended on suspicion of tax evasion. Arrests have raised questions about the endemic corruption at the heart of the country’s political elite. 
“Corruption is a serious problem we are facing. We now see that corruption is occurring in higher places than we had previously expected,” Berhanu Assefa of the Federal Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission of Ethiopia says. “Areas vulnerable to corruption are land administration, tax and revenue, the justice system, telecommunications, land procurement, licensing areas and the finance sector,” he said.
Ethiopia ranks 113 out of 176 countries on the Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International. Ethiopia has also lost close to $12 billion since 2000 to illicit financial outflows, according to Global Financial Integrity.
Professor of Economics at Harper College in the United States, Dr. Getachew Begashaw, says that there was a fear that the recent high profile arrests are just political theatre designed to placate major donors such as the World Bank and the IMF, and to give credibility to the new regime’s fight against corruption.
Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has led Ethiopia after Prime Minister Meles Zenawi died in August 2012.
“They are using this as a PR stunt to appease not only the donors, but to also dupe the Ethiopian people. Because many non-party affiliated Ethiopians in the business community are complaining, and this complaint is trickling down to the average people on the streets,” he said.
Illicit financial flows as a result of corruption are a major hindrance to a country’s development, undermining institutions, economies and societies. According to the Africa Progress Panel’s Africa Progress Report 2013, the continent is losing more through illicit financial outflows than it receives in aid and foreign direct investment.

While Ethiopia is currently enjoying economic growth, the Horn of Africa nation remains mired in poverty and neglect due to corruption. Many government officials continue to skim the “cream off the top,” which hinders foreign investors seeking stable, long-term partnerships in developing countries

በቦንድ ሽያጭ ያልተሳካው የገንዘብ ዘረፋ በኮንደሚኒየም ሰበብ መሳካት የለበትም!!!

ወያኔ በጠመንጃ ኃይል ሥልጣን ከተቆጣጠረበት 1983 ጀምሮ በከተሞች አካባቢ ምንም አይነት ሕዝባዊ ተቀባይነት ኖሮት አያውቅም። ለዚህም የሚሰጠው ምክንያት ከተሞች በጠላትነት በተፈረጀው አማራና የቀድሞ ሥርዓት ናፋቂዎች የተሞሉ ስለሆነ ነው ይላል። ዋና ከተማችን አዲስ አበባ በዚህ ውንጀላ ዋጋ ከከፈሉት ከተሞች ግንባር ቀደሟ ናት። በተለይ በመጀመሪያው የወያኔ 10 (አሥር) የሥልጣን አመታት የከተማዋን የነዋሪዎች አሰፋፈር ስብጥር ሆን ብሎ ለመቀየር ከመሞከር ጀምሮ የተለያዩ የአገልግሎት መስጫ ተቋሞችን አቅም ለማዳከም በርካታ አሳዛኝ እርምጃዎች ተወስደዋል።
ታሪክን ወደኋላ መለስ ብለን እንቃኝ። የፋሺስት ጣልያን ጦር በእንግሊዝ ጦር ትብብር በኢትዮጵያ አርበኞች ከተደመሰሰ በኋላ በአሸናፊነው ወደከተሞች የገባው የእንግሊዝ ጦር ያገኘውን ንብረት በወቅቱ የቅኝ ግዛቶቹ ወደ ነበሩት ኬንያና ሱማሌ አሽሽቷል። ከብዙ ዓስርተ ዓመታት በኋላ ወያኔ ይህንኑ እኩይ ተግባር ደገመው። ወያኔ በያዛቸው ከተሞች ውስጥ ያገኘኛቸውን ውድ ዋጋና ትላልቅ ጥቅሞች የሚሰጡ በርካታ ንብረቶችን ከተለያዩ መንግሥታዊና ወታደራዊ ተቋሞች፤ ዩኒቨርስቲዎች፤ ሆስፒታሎች፤ ማህበራዊና ኤኮኖሚያዊ አገልግሎት መስጫዎች ዘርፎ እስከዛሬ ትክክለኛ አደራሻው ለሕዝብ ይፋ ወደ አልተደረገ የሰሜን አካባቢ አይናችን እያየ በረጃጅም የጭነት መኪናዎች አጓጉዞአል። በቀድሞ መንግሥት ዘመን ምንም ዕጥረት እንዳልነበረው የሚታወቀውን የንጹህ መጠጥ ውሃ አቅርቦትና የ24 ሰዓት መብራት አገልግሎትን እንኳ ሳይቀር በማስተጓጎል የከተማውን ሕዝብ ተበቅሎአል።
ወያኔ አዲስ አበባ ከተማ ላይ ያለውን ጥላቻ በጥቂቱም ቢሆን ረገብ ያደረገ የሚያስመስል እንቅስቃሴዎችን ማድረግ የጀመረው በሁለት ዋና ዋና ምክንያቶች ነው። አንደኛው ምክንያት በቃኝ የማያውቁት የቀድሞ ተጋዳላዮች የአገሪቱን አንጡራ ሃብት እንዲበዘብዙ በተመቻቸላቸው እድል ዘርፈው የያዙትን ገንዘብ ከውልደታቸው ጀምሮ ከሚታወቁበት አካባቢ ሕዝብ እይታ አርቀው “ለደም ካሳ” በዋና ከተማችን እምብርት በነፃ በታደላቸው የከተማ ቦታዎች ላይ ህንጻዎችን በመገንባት ንብረት እንዲይዙ ሁኔታዎችን ለማመቻቸት ሁለተኛው ምክንያት ደግሞ በርካታ የአለም አቀፍ ድርጅቶችና ዲፕሎማቶች መቀመጫ በሆነቺው አዲስ አበባ ምርጫ 97ን ተከትሎ ገጥሞት የነበረው ሽንፈት ባስከተለው መዘዝ የተበላሸ ገጽታውን በህንጻና መንገዶች ግንባታ ስም ለማሳመር መጣር ናቸው።
የአዲስ አበባ ኮንደሚኒዬም ቤቶቾ ግንባታ ከምርጫ 97 ቦኋላ በመኖሪያ ቤቶች እጥረት የሚሰቃየውን ሕዝብ ልብ ለማማለልና የፖለቲካ ድጋፍ ለመግዛት ያስችላል ተብሎ የታሰበ ብቻ ሳይሆን የሚከተሉት ድብቅ ዓላማዎችም አሉት።

1. በዘረፋ የከበሩ የቀድሞ ተጋዳላዮችና የጥቅም ተካፋዮቻቸው አይናቸው ያረፈባቸውን ቁልፍ የመኖሪያና የንግድ ቦታዎች ሁሉ ለዘመናት በባለይዞታነት ይዘው የኖሩትን በልማትና በእንቨስትመንት ሥም በማፈናቀል ወደ ግላቸው ላማዞር ያስችላቸዋል፤
2. በተለያዩ ሥም የተቋቋሙ የህንጻ ሥራ ተቋራጭ ድርጅቶቻቸው በግንባታው ሥራ በመሳተፍ መጠነ ሰፊ የሆነ ትርፍ ለማግበስበስ ያመቻቸዋል፤
3. የሥርዓቱን ደጋፊዎችና አቀንቃኞች ከሌላ ቦታ አምጥቶ በማስፈር በጠላትነት የተፈረጀውን የኅብረተሰብ ክፍል ተጽዕኖ ለማምከን ይረዳል፤
4. በሀብት ዘረፋው ለመሳተፍ እድል የሌላቸው የበታች ካድሬዎችና ታማኝ አገልጋዮችን ተጠቃሚ በማድረግ በአለቆቻቸው ዘረፋ ተማረው ልባቸው እንዳይሸፍት ይከላከላል ፤
5. ከተወለዱበትና ካደጉበት የግልና የቀበሌ ቤቶች ያለውደታቸው የተፈናቀሉ ዜጎች የኮኖዶሚኒየሙን ሂሳብ መክፈል እስከቻሉ ድረስ “ከቤታችን ተፈናቅለን ሜዳ ላይ ተጣልን” የሚል እሮሮ በማሰማት መንግስት ላይ አመጽ እንዳያስነሱ ስጋት ለመቀነስ ይረዳል፤
6. ከሰሞኑ 40 ከመቶ ተብሎ በወጣው ፖሊሲ እንደታዘብነው ደግሞ ዜጎችን በማጓጓት ተቸግረው ያጠራቀሙትን ገንዘብ ዝግ የባንክ ሂሳብ ውስጥ እንዲከቱ በማድረግ የገንዘብ እጥረት አንገቱ ድረስ የዘለቀውን አገዛዝ ለመታደግ ያስችላል (በ16 የሥራ ቀናት ብቻ ከተመዘገበው 750, 000 የኮንዶሚንዬም ቤት አመልካች 750 000 000 (ሰባት መቶ ሃምሳ ሚሊዮን) ብር መሰብሰቡን ልብ ይሏል)

ከዚህም በተጨማሪ የኮንደሚኒዬም ቤቶች ግንባታ በቂ ጥናትና ዝግጅት ያልተደረገበት የይድረስ ይድረስ ሥራ መሆኑን የቤቶቹ ርክክብ በተፈጸመ ማግሥት ስለ ህንጻው መሬት ውስጥ መስጠምና መጣመም መጀመር እየወጥ ያሉ ዜገባዎች ዋቤ ምስክር ናቸው።
የወያኔ መሪዎችና ታማኝ አገልጋዮቻቸው ከኮንደሚኒዬም ግንባታ በተጨማሪ ከምርጫ 97 ወዲህ ከፍተኛ ገንዘብ እያግበሰበሱ ያሉት የከተማ ቦታዎችን በውድ ዋጋ የልጅ ልጆቻቸው እንኳ ሊደርሱበት ለማይችል የግዜ ገደብ በሊዝ በመቸብቸብ ነው። በዚህ የመሬት ቅሪሚያ አንዳንድ ስግብግቦች “የአባትህ ቤት ሲዘረፍ አብረህ ዝረፍ” እንዲሉ “ወያኔዎች መሬታችንን እየተቀራመቱ ስለሆነ ተሻምተን ማስቆም አለብን” በሚል ብልጣ ብልጥነት ከሚኖሩበት የስደት አገር እየተጓዙ የወያኔን ገቢያ በማድራት ላይ መሆናቸውን የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ በትዝብት ተመልክቶአል። አገርን ዘርፎ ለዘራፊ እየሰጠ ያለ መንግሥት ሴራ ተባባሪ መሆን በሞራልም ሆነ በህሊና ዳኝነት የሚያስጠይቅ ወንጀል መሆኑ ሳያንስ እነዚህ በስግብግብነት የተጠመዱ ወገኖች ለንብረታቸው ደህንነት ሲባል ወያኔ ዓይናቸው እያየ ጆሮአቸው እየሰማ በሌሎች ወገኖቻቸው ላይ የሚፈጽማቸውን ሰቆቃዎች እንኳ ለመቃወም ድፍረት በማጣት ሌላ ትዝብት ውስጥ ሲወድቁ ተስተውለዋል:: ለመሆኑ እነዚህ ወገኖች ለፍተው ባገኙት ገንዘብ የገዙት ባርነትን ነው ወይስ የንብረት ባለቤትነትን ለሚለው ጥያቄ ምላሽ ይኖራቸዋል?
የዜጎች መብት በተከበረበት አገር ከዜግነት መብቶች አንዱ የግል ሀብት ባለቤት ለመሆን ገደብ የሌለው ነፃነትና እድል መኖሩ ነው:: ወያኔ በሚያስተዳድራት ኢትዮጵያችን ግን የንብረት ባለቤት ለመሆን የሥርዓቱ ባለሟል መሆን አለያም ከፖለቲካ ባላንጣነት መራቅ ዋና መስፈርት ናቸው። በዚህ መስፈርት ከወያኔ ጋር ተሻምተው ወይም ተሻርከው የንብረት ባለቤት ለመሆን እየተሽቀዳደሙ ያሉ ወገኖች ሊያውቁት የሚገባው ሃቅ ቢኖር አድሎአዊነት በሰፈነበት መንገድ የተገኘ ማንኛውም አይነት ሀብት ወይም ንብረት ወደፊት በወያኔ ከርሰ መቃብር ላይ በሚመሰረተው ዲሞክራሲያዊት ኢትዮጵያ ህገዊ ጥበቃ የሚኖረው አለመሆኑን ነው። ብሄራው የአገር ጥቅም ላይ ክህደት ከፈጸመ ፤ ዜጎችን በማፈን ሰቆቃ ካደረሰ ፤ የአገሪቷን ዜጎች ከቤት ንብረታቸው በማፈናቀል መሬታቸውን ቀምቶ ለሌሎች አሳልፎ ከሰጠ ፤ የመንግሥትና የሕዝብ ሀብት ዘርፎ ለዘራፍ ከሰጠ ወንጀለኛ መንግሥት ጉያ ውስጥ ተወሽቆ እስከ ወዲያኛው የህግ ጥበቃ ሊደረግለት የሚችል ንብረት ባለቤት መሆን ማሰብ እጅግ ይቸግራል። ዜጎች በራሳቸው ወዝ ለፍተው ያገኙትን ንብረት ሳይቀር በፖለቲካ አስተሳሰባቸው ምክንያት ብቻ በሽብርተኝነት እየፈርጀ የሚነጥቅ ሥርዓት ዕድሜ እንደምንጠብቀው ረዥም ሊሆን እንደማይችል ማሰብ ብልህነት ነው።
ግንቦት 7 የፍትህ የነፃነትና የዲሞክራሲ ንቅናቄ የወያኔ አገዛዝ በውጭው ዓለም በስደት ከሚኖረው ወገናችን በአባይ ግድብ የቦንድ ሺያጭ ሥም ለመሰብሰብ ሞክሮ ያልተሳካለትን ገንዘብ በመሬት ሺያጭ እና በኮንደሚኒዬም ቤት ግዥ ሥም እንዲያገኝ ሊፈቀድለት አይገባም ብሎ ያምናል:: ስለዚህም እያንዳንዱ ነፃነት ናፋቂ ኢትዮጵያዊ ከዚህ ከኮንደሚኒዬም ቤቶች በስተጀርባ ያለውን ድብቅ አጀንዳ በማጋለጥ ጥረቱን በማምከን የሕዝባዊ እምብተኝነት ትግል አካል እንዲሆን ግንቦት 7 የትግል ጥሪውን ያስተላልፋል።

በሳውዲ አረቢያ ሪያድ የሚገኙ የኢትዮጵያ ዲፕሎማቶች ከባድ ተቃውሞ ገጠማቸው !

 ህዝብን ከመግስት ጋር ለማጋጨት እየፈጸሙ ባለው ደባ አንባሳደሩን ጨምሮ አንዳንድ ዲፕሎማቶች ከቦታቸው እንዲነሱ ተጠየቀ።

እሁድ ቀን Aug 7 2013 ሪያድ ከተማ በሚገኘው የኢትዮጵያ ኮሚኒቲ አዳራሽ በተጠራው ስብሰባ አንባሳደሩን ጨምሮ በሪያድ የኢትዮጵያ ዲፕሎማቶች እየፈጸሙ ያለውን ግፍ እና በደል ህዝቡ በዝርዝር በመግለጽ ቅሬታ እና ተቋውሞውን አሰምቷል። በተለይ ከህዝብ አይታ ተሸሽገው የከረሙት በሳውዲ አረቢያ የኢትዮጵያው አንባሳደር ክቡር መሃመድ ሃሰን በወቅቱ ከተሰብሳቢው ከሚሰነዘርባቸው ሂስ ለማምለጥ፡ ሲሞክሩ መያዛቸውን የሚገልጹት ውስጥ አዋቂ ምንጮች አንባሳደሩ ከተስበሳቢው በቀረበ ጥያቄ መሰረት እንደ ተራ ሰው ተደብቀው ስብሰባውን የከታተሉ ከነብረበት ቦታ ተነስተው እስከ ዛሬ አይቶቸው ለማያውቀው ህዝብ እይታ በክብር መድረክ ላይ እንዲወጡ በመጋበዝ በአንባሳደሩ የአስተዳደር ድክመት አንዳንድ ዲፕሎማቶች ህዝብ እና መግስትን ለማራራቅ እየፈጸሙ ያለው ደካማ ጎን በነዋሪው ተዘርዝሯል።

በሪያድ የኢትዮጵያ ዲፕሎማቶች የሃገራችንን በጎ ገጽታ የሚያጎድፉ ጸያፍ ተግባራት በጥቂት ስረአት አለበኛ ወገኖች ሲፈጸም እንደ ሃገር ተወካይነታቸው ቀድመው እርምጃ ከመውሰድ ይልቅ የዝሆን ጆሮ ይስጠን በሚል ግትር አቋማቸው ዛሬ ሳውዲ አረቢያ ውስጥ ኢትዮጵያዊነት አሳፋሪ ገጽታ ላይ መድረሱን ተከትሎ ከቅርብ ግዜ ወዲህ የዜጎች በሰላም የመኖር ዋስትና አደጋ ላይ ለመውደቅ ግንባር ቀደም ምክንያተ መሆናቸው ተወስቷል ።

የሪያድ ማህበረሰብ በነዚህ ዲፕሎማቶች ደባ ከኮሚኒቲው ማህበር እንዲረቅ የተደረገበት ምክንያት ለህዝበ ነዋሪው እስካሁን እንቆቅልሽ መሆኑንን የተናገሩ አንድ አስተያየት ሰጪ « የኢ.ህ.አ.ዴ.ግ መግስት ቀደም ሲል ከህዝብ ጋር ለመገናኘት በብሄር አዋቅሯቸው የነበሩ የልማት ማህበር ማዕከላት በዲፕሎማቱ አውቆ አጥፊነት በአባላቱ መሃከል መቃቃርን በመፍጠር ጽ/ ቤቶቹ ታሽገው ከ10ሺህ አባላት እንዳሉት የሚነገርለት በሪያድ የኢትዮጵያ ኮሚኒቲ ማህበር ጥቂት የነሱ ተላላኪዎች ብቻ የሚርመሰመሱበት ከመሆኑም ባሻገር በነዚህ ዲፕሎማቶች አይዞ ባይነት የኮሚኒቲው ቀዋሚ እና ተንቀሳቃሽ ንብረቶች ላይ አይን ያወጣ ምዝበራ እና ዘረፋ ስፈጸም « ለምን »ብለው የጠየቁ የኮሚኒቲውን አባላት በመንግስት ዘንድ እንደ አመጸኛ እንዲታዩ በማድረግ ህዝበ ነዋሪውን የባለቤት ነት ስሜት እንዳይሰማው አድርገዋል ብለዋል»።

በሌላ በኩል ትላንት በከፈተኛ ወጪ በሪያድ የአንባሳደሩን ቤት ጨምሮ ለኤንባሲ አገልግሎት የሚውል ታቦት ቀረሽ የተንጣለለ ህንጻ አሰርቶ ለኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ ያስረከበን ታላቅ ( ማህበረሰብ ) ድርቅ እና የሃገራችን ዳር ድንበር ተደፈረ ሲባል የገንዘብ ድጎማ ከማድረግ አንስቷ እስከ ህይወት መስወአትነት ከኢትዮጵያ ሰራዊት ጎን በደጀንነት እንደቆመ እና ወደፊት በማንኛውም ጉዳይ እንደሚቆም የሚነገርለትን ጨዋ የሪያድ እና አካባቢው ኢትዮጵያዊ ማህበረሰብ «ከአባይ ግድብ በፊት ድምጻችን ይሰማ » ማለቱ የትህምክትኝነት አባዜ ተጸናውቶት ሳይሆን በሪያድ የኢትዮጵያ ዲፕሎማቶች የአስተሳሰብ ውጤት በህዝብ ላይ ያሳደረው አሉታዊ ተጽዕኖ መሆኑንን አብዛኛው ወገኖች ይገልጻሉ።

በተለያዩ ግዜያት በሚከሰቱ የሃገራችን ፖለቲካዊም ሆነ ሃይማኖታዊ ወቅታዊ ጉዳዩች ዲፕሎማቱ ከማህበረሰቡ ለሚቀርብላቸው ጥያቄ የሃገራችንን ህገ-መንግስታዊ ጽንሰሃሳቦች መሰረት አድርገው ዝቅ ብለው ህዝብን ከማነጋገር ይልቅ ይህን ልማታዊ የሆነን ወገን በመናቅ እና በማንቆሸሽ ሲሻቸው በማስፈራራት አሊያም እንደ አመጸኛ እና አጥፊ በመፈረጅ ለመንግስት በሚያቀርቡት የተሳሳተ መረጃ ማህበረሰቡ ከመንግስት ጋር የነብረውን መልካም ግንኙነት እንዲሻክር አድርገዋል። ለዚህም በቅርቡ የሳውዲ አረቢያ መንግስት ያወጣውን የምህረት አዋጅ ተከትሎ በአሰሪዎቻቸው ይደርስባቸው ከነበረ ስቃይ እና እንግለት ለመታደግ ጠፍተው ህገወጥ፡በሆነ መንገድ ከእጅ ወደ አፈ የሆነ ኑሯቸውን የመሩ ከነበሩ እህቶቻችን ጉሮሮ «ደሃ የሚበላው እንጂ የሚከፍለው አያጣም» በሚል ምጸታዊ አስተሳሰብ ፓስፖርቶቻቸውን ለማሳሳደስ እና ለመቀበል ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ኤንባሲ የጎረፉ እህቶቻችንን ለአባይ ግድብ የሚውል ቦንድ መግዣ እንዲከፍሉ ግዳጅ በማስቀመጥ፡ በሪያድ የሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያዊያንን በሃገራዊ ልማት የነበራቸውን ታሪካዊ ተሳትፎ ጥላሸት በመቀባት ! ዲፕሎማቱ የዘቀጠ አስተሳሰባቸውን በግልጽ ያሳዩበትን አሳዛኝ እና ሳፋሪ አጋጣሚ እንደነበር ተሰብሳቢው አውስቷል።

ይህ በዚህ እንዳለ ክቡር አንባሳደር መሃመድ ሃሰን በቅርቡ በሪያድ አለም አቀፍ የኢትዮጵያ ኮሚኒቲ ት/ቤት በወላጆች የተቋቋመ አንድ ኮሚቴ ሰደተኛውን ወገናችንን የት/ቤት ባለቤት የሚያደርግ እና በሪያድ የሚኖር ወገናችንን በተመጣጣኝ ዋጋ ልጆቹን ሊያስተምር የሚችልበትን ት/ቤት ለመግዛት ተይዞ የነበረውን እቅድ በማደናቀፍ የአብዛኛውን ወላጅ ልጆቹን በሰው ሃገር የማስተማር ተስፋው እንዲጨልም ምክንያት ሆነውል። ክቡር አንባሳደር መሃመድ ት/ቤት ውስጥ፡ባስቀመጦቸው ደጋፊዎቻቸው እየተመሩ የት/ቤት የቦርድ አመራር አባላት ከወላጆች እንዳይመረጥ የራሳቸውን ተጽዕኖ በማሳረፍ ት/ቤቱን ባለቤት አልባ እንዲሆን አድርገውታል። ክቡር አንባሳደር መሃመድ ሃሰን ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ የአሰሪ እና ሰራተኛ አገናኝ፡ኤጀንሲ እንዳላቸው ከሚነገርላቸው ከኮሚኒቲ ሊቀምንበር አቶ ሙስጠፋ ሃሰን ጋር ባላቸው የእከክልኝ ልከክልህ ግንኙነት በተጠቀሱት ግለሰብ ኤጀንሲ አማካኝኘት የሚመጡ ሴት እህቶቻችን ላይ የሚደርሰውን ግፍ እና በደል አይተው እንዳላዩ ማለፋቸው ከወገን ተቆርቋሪነታቸው ይልቅ ለግል ለጥቅም የቆሙ መሆናቸውን ታዛቢዎች ይገልጻሉ። ቀደም ሲል በኮሚኒቲው ሊቀንበር አቶ መስጠፋ እጄንሲ በኩ የመጡ 2 ኢትዮጵያውያን በአሰሪዎቻቸው በደረሰባቸው ድብደባ እና እንግለት ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ኮሚኒት ግዜያዊ መጠለያ በመግባት የጉዞ ትኬት አጥተው ከብዙ ስቃይ በሃላ በጭንቀት ሲሰቃዩ ኖረው እራስቸውን አንቀው መግደላቸው የቅርብ ግዜ አሳዛኝ ዜና መሆኑ ይታወሳል ።

በሳውዲ አረቢያ ሪያድ እና ጅዳ ከተማ ከአሰሪዎቻቸው ግፍ እና በደል ለመታደግ እያመለጡ ወደ ኮሚኒቲ ግዜያዊ መጠለያ ለሚመጡ እህቶቻችን የሳውዲ አረቢያ መንግስት ለውጭ ሃገር ዜጎች የሰጠውን የምህረት አዋጅ መሰረት አድረገው የተጠቀሱትን ወገኖች የእድሉ ተጠቃሚ ማድረግ ሲቻል እነዚህ ወገኖቻችን ተበድረው የመጡበትን ገንዘብ እንኳን በወጉ ሳይመልሱ ባዶ እጃቸውን ሃገር እንዲገቡ ማድረግ ባእዳኖች በወገኖቻችን ላይ ከሚፈጽሙት አካላዊ ገፍ የከፋ ጭካኔ መሆኑንን አያሌ ወገኖች ይገልጻሉ። በተለይ ከሪያድ እና ከጅዳ የሚወጡ ሚስጥራዊ መረጃዎች እንደሚያመለክቱት በኮሚኒቲው ግዜያዊ መጠለያ የሚገኙ እህቶቻችን ወደ ሃገር በተሳፈሩ ቁጥር አየርመንገዱ ለያንዳንዱ ተግዥ 40 ኪሎ ሻንጣ በነጻ መጫን ስለሚፈቅድ በተጠቀሱት ሴት እህቶቻችን ስም የተለያዩ እቃዎችን ወደ ኢትዮጵያ በመላክ ዲፕሎማቱ የተጠቀሱትን ሴት እህቶቻችንን እንደ ቀዋሚ የግል ኪስ ማደላቢያ እንደሚጠቀሙባቸው ይነገራል።

በአጠቃላይ እነዚህ የሪያድ ነዋሪዎች ስለዲፕሎማቱ ሲገልጽ ህዝብ የሚላቸውን የማይሰሙ ከህዝበ ሰደኛው ወገናቸው ብሶት ይልቅ የራሳቸውን ጥቅም የሚያስቀድሙ መንግስት ከጣለባቸው ስልጣን እና ሃላፊነት ውጭ፡ በእጅ አዙር በሳውዲ አረቢያ የተለያዩ የመንደር ንግድ ተቋማት ውስጥ እጃቻቸውን በማስገባት የግል ህይወታቸውን ለመለወጥ የሚራወጡ የኛቢጤ ነጋዴዎች እንጂ የሃገር እና የህዝብ ተወካይ (ዲፕሎማቶች) ሊባሉ የማይችሉ መሆናቸውን አስረግጠው በመግለጽ ከቦታቸው እንዲነሱ ጠይቀዋል።

በመጨረሻም አንባሳደሩን ጨምሮ በሪያድ የኢትዮጵያ ዲፕሎማቶች ላይ ያለውን ተቃውሞ በምሬት የገለጸው ተሰብሳቢ ዲፕሎማት ክቡር አቶ መስፍን ድባብ እና ዲፕሎማት ክቡር አቶ ከደር ሁሴን ደከምን ሰለቸን ሳይሉ ለህዝብ እያበረከቱ ያለውን አስተዋጾ ተሰብሳቢው በማድነቅ ለተጠቀሱት ዲፕሎማቶች ያለውን ድጋፍ በጭብጨባ በመግለጽ ስብሰባው በታቀደለት ግዜ በሰላም ተጠናቋል።

የደኅንነት ሠራተኞች ኃላፊነታቸውን ሲወጡ ለሚወስዱት ዕርምጃ በሕግ አይጠየቁም-ማንኛውም ሰው መረጃ መጠየቁንና መስጠቱን በሚስጥር የመያዝ ግዴታ አለበት
ብሔራዊ የመረጃና ደኅንነት አገልግሎት ተቋምን በሚኒስቴር ደረጃ እንደገና የሚያቋቁም ረቂቅ አዋጅ ለፓርላማ ቀረበ፡፡

ብሔራዊ የመረጃና ደኅንነት አገልግሎት በ1987 ዓ.ም. በወጣ አዋጅ የተቋቋመ ሲሆን፣ ከዚህ በኋላ በርካታ አገራዊ፣ አካባቢያዊ፣ አኅጉራዊና ዓለም አቀፋዊ ሁኔታዎች ላይ ለውጦች መታየታቸውና እነዚህ ለውጦች በኢትዮጵያ ደኅንነት ላይ ያላቸውን ፋይዳ ባገናዘበ ሁኔታ በተቋሙ ላይ ለውጥ መፍጠር በማስፈለጉ፣ ማሻሻያው እንዲደረግ መወሰኑን የጠቅላይ ሚኒስቴር ጽሕፈት ቤት አባሪ ያደረገው መግለጫ ያስረዳል፡፡
በዚህም መሠረት የአገር መከላከያን፣ የአገር ደኅንነትንና ሉዓላዊነትን የማስጠበቅ ሥልጣንና ተግባር የፌዴራል መንግሥት እንደመሆኑ መጠን፣ የመረጃና ደኅንነት አገልግሎት በአገር ደረጃ የሚዋቀር ብቸኛ ተቋም ሆኖ ክልሎች መሰል ተቋም ሊኖሯቸው እንደማይችል በማመልከት አዋጁ ተረቋል፡፡
አገልግሎቱ ካለበት ሕገ መንግሥታዊና አገራዊ ኃላፊነት እንዲሁም ካለው ሰፊ ሥልጣንና ተግባር አንፃር በሚኒስቴር ደረጃ እንዲዋቀር በረቂቅ አዋጁ ተካቷል፡፡
ተቋሙ ለሕዝብ ጥቅም አስፈላጊ ነው ብሎ ሲያምን የሒሳብ መዛግብትና ሌሎች የሥራ መረጃዎችን እጅግ ብርቱ ሚስጥር ብሎ በመሰየም ለሌሎች አካላት (የፈዴራል ኦዲተርንም ቢሆን) ሊከለክል እንደሚችል በረቂቁ ላይ ተካቷል፡፡
ይህ ሥልጣን ቢኖረውም በውስጥ ኦዲተርና ለጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ በሚቀርብ ሪፖርት መነሻነት ክትትልና ቁጥጥር ስለሚደረግበት፣ የተጠያቂነት ሥርዓቱ ላይ ጥያቄ የማያጭር መሆኑን የጠቅላይ ሚኒስቴር ጽሕፈት ቤት አባሪ መግለጫ ያስረዳል፡፡
በመሆኑም ተቋሙ ከውጭ አገር የሚያስገባቸውን የመረጃ ደኅንነት መሣሪያዎች ወይም ዕቃዎች ለጉምሩክ ሳይገለጹ እንዲገቡ ማድረግ ሲችል፣ ወደ ውጭ የሚላኩ ተመሳሳይ መሣሪያዎች ሚስጥራዊ ባህሪያቸው እንደተጠበቀ እንዲንቀሳቀሱ አዋጁ ይፈቅዳል፡፡
የተቋሙ የደኅንነት ሠራተኞች ማንነትና የሀብት መጠን ሚስጥራዊ በሆነ ሁኔታ እንዲጠበቅ የማድረግ ኃላፊነትም በረቂቁ ተካቷል፡፡ በተጨማሪም ተቋሙ ከአገር ውስጥ የሕግ አስከባሪ አካላት ጋር በፀጥታ ዙሪያ በቅንጅት እንዲሠራ ትብብሩና መደጋገፉ በአጋር አካላት በጐ ፈቃደኝነት ላይ የተሠረተ ሳይሆን፣ ግዴታን የጣለ ረቂቅ አንቀጽ ተካቷል፡፡
የአቪዬሽን ደኅንነትን በበላይነት የመምራት፣ ብሔራዊ የመታወቂያ ካርድ የመስጠት ሥራን በበላይነት የመምራት፣ እንዲሁም ለግል ጥበቃ ድርጅቶችና ሠራተኞች የማረጋገጫ ሠርተፊኬት የመስጠት ኃላፊነቶች ተሰጥተውታል፡፡
የተቋሙ የደኅንነት ሠራተኛ ኃላፊነቱን በአግባቡ በሚወጣበት ወቅት በነበሩ አስገዳጅ ሁኔታዎች ለሚወስደው ዕርምጃ በወንጀልም ሆነ በፍትሐ ብሔር ወንጀል እንደማይጠየቅ ረቂቁ ያስረዳል፡፡
የደኅንነት ሠራተኞች በሥራ ላይም ሆነ ከተሰናበቱ በኋላ በሥራ አጋጣሚ የሚያውቋቸውን ሚስጥሮች የመጠበቅ ግዴታ የተጣለባቸው ሲሆን፣ ማንኛውም ሰው በተቋሙ መረጃ ተጠይቆና ሰጥቶ ስለመሆኑ በቸልተኝነት እንኳን ለሌሎች ቢያሳውቅ በወንጀል እንደሚጠየቅ ረቂቅ አዋጁ ይገልጻል፡፡
በተጨማሪም የተቋሙ ሠራተኛ ያልሆነ ግለሰብ በተቋሙ፣ በኃላፊው ወይም በደኅንነት ሠራተኞች ስም በቃል ወይም በድርጊት ለማታለልና ለማስመሰል የሞከረና የተቋሙን ተግባር ያወከ ግለሰብ፣ በወንጀል ሕግ ድንጋጌዎች እንደሚቀጣ በረቂቁ ተካቷል፡፡ ረቂቁ ለዝርዝር ዕይታ ለሕግና ፍትሕ አስተዳደር ጉዳዮች ቋሚ ኮሚቴ በዋናነት ተመርቷል፡፡

The President talks, just listen and hope

In 2003 the government wanted to solve the “problem” of Ethiopian Free Journalists Association (EFJA) once and for all. Unlike other civil society and professional organizations which already had surrogates implanted, it took time to infiltrate the Association. In many ways EFJA was more vocal than others. They also managed to rally international human rights groups behind them.
The Ethiopian Journalists Association (EJA),which is as independent as the state run media, was not helping matters either. Its docile leadership was good for nothing.
However, EFJA was still suspended on technicalities. The Ministry of Justice claimed the Association had not been audited and was operating without license. Hardly anyone bought that excuse.
So one of the solution to this perennial problem was to create an organization in the name of the private press. Some members who had issues with the leadership were used as Trojan horse. While EFJA was far from perfect, the intervention played in their favor. In the eyes of international press watchdogs they looked like a victim.
To that end, the government created its own “independent” media association christened as Ethiopian National Journalists Union (ENJU). The Union was to be led by an employee of TPLF owned Walta Information Center. Ever since its creation, the Union has been used as an attack dog whenever the ruling party needs their service.
Recently the President of ENJU appeared in the clueless national Amharic daily Addis Zemen to pour scorn on award winning journalist Eskinder Nega. Clearly the government is under pressure from all corners to release the jailed blogger who is serving an 18 year term on far-fetched accusations of terrorism. The leader of the Union didn’t hide his disdain to the person he was supposed to defend. For him the one time publisher was a terrorist, fascist and everything in between. Words were not enough to curse and maul Eskinder even to the level of saying they don’t know him as a journalist. It’s not clear then why he was part of the discussion at all.
The New York based press watchdog Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) was not spared the condemnation. Odd as it may sound, one of the reasons CPJ took the heat was for not helping ENJU.
Two of a kind
On the bright side though, the Union’s President talked about two imprisoned journalists – Reeyot Alemu and Woubshet Taye – for whom they claimed to do everything “in accordance with the law” to secure their release. If bashing Eskinder will bring the freedom of the other two, so be it.
Reeyot has been in jail since June 2011. According to the sentence she should serve five years in prison. While the charges encompass a long range of sins connected to terrorist activities, what angered the rulers was a picture of graffiti allegedly taken by her and sent to a U.S. based website.
Woubshet has been an editor of the defunct Amharic weekly Awramba Times. The father of one was sentenced to a 14-year prison term, two of which served since his arrest. Last year just in time for the Ethiopian New Year, there was talk about his eminent release alongside two Swedish journalists pardoned on an 11-year sentence. However, a Ministry of Justice official quashed that hope when he said there was no request for his pardon.
Up with hope!
It is not certain whether the President was talking for the government. Could he be having some information about their release; and who knows if they are scrambling to get a little piece of credit when the two are finally set free.
It is customary to grant pardon during Ethiopian New Year that falls on September 11. That might as well be a sign that the courageous journalists may be walking out of jail as free persons. We will keep our fingers crossed.

Gruesome immorality in Ethiopia

Introduction
I would like to start writing this short piece with this verse from the Holy Bible: “Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment” Proverbs 12:19
Issues that led to the down fall of the Imperial regime in the 1974 Ethiopian revolution include, inter alia: famine in the north; demand for land to the tiller; rampant unemployment; moral decay exacerbated by prostitution and corruption.

The Imperial regime masterly employed carrot and stick to quell down public dissent contrary to the hasty trigger happy Derg regime; the TPLF regime enacted draconian laws to suppress freedom of expression; it instantly pulled the trigger against the opposition.
It would be no exaggeration to underscore those mountains of heinous crimes and gruesome acts of immorality, unprecedented in the history of Ethiopia, that have been committed in the past 22 years of the dominion of the TPLF/EPRDF regime.
A few snapshots of gruesome violations of human rights as reported by renowned human rights organizations and independent media outlets are given below.
Raping a retarded girl by an EPRDF policeman
This article is prompted by the recent act of rape committed by a policeman on a deaf and mentally retarded girl placed under his custody by good Samaritans who found her meandering in the street at night having lost her direction. According to the incident aired on ESAT TV on 16 February 2013, the good Samaritans took her to a police station and put her in the care of the officer in charge, but he raped her twice during the night. She reported the grisly affair using body language. Although he denied the crime, the rapist was taken to court and found guilty and sentenced to 3 years and seven months imprisonment. Many say he should have been put behind bars for life.
Repugnant act of savagery in Shoa
I was utterly disgusted by the nauseating savage act of torture inflicted on innocent peasant and his family residing in Dera, northern Shoa of Ethiopia.
Imagine the unthinkable scene of horror! Back in November 2012 a couple was ordered to undress completely naked and the wife forced to drag her husband to a public meeting place by pulling him with a rope tied to his private part. The six months pregnant wife was beaten on her stomach with the butt of the gun and miscarried. The husband was also badly beaten and had to be admitted to hospital for treatment
This unbelievably gruesome, embarrassingly savage, and unprecedented cruel act of torture committed by the EPRDF security operatives in the 21st century was surely meant to extract confession at the meeting from the peasant that he had a gun hidden in his house as well as terrify the community by making the couple an example. Only the victims know the ordeal they have been through to succumb to the demand of their tormentors.
The bestial act has reportedly unleashed a backlash from the community; that the local government administration is forced to frantically engage in a cover up spree as usual.
It is admitted by the local authorities and, boundless gratitude to ESAT, reliably verified and established that the peasant is a model farmer respected by his community. The EPRDF, as the notorious perpetrator of officially sanctioned torture over the last 21 years, has this time made a fatal error in its final days of vanishing for good.
I was deeply moved by the vehement condemnation of the heinous act by a renowned activist for democracy in USA and another lady from Australia. They both vividly expressed their anger, and rightly so, against the act of humiliating, tarnishing, and denigrating the image of Ethiopia and the civility inherent in our centuries-old enviable culture.
The clarion call for action made by these two heroic ladies should be applauded.
Basic cornerstones of the foundation of democracy and moral values are on the death row of the EPRDF regime, namely the Amhara and the Oromo ethnic groups, EOTC, Islam, and Human Development (Ethiopia ranks at 174 out of 176 nations according to the latest UDI)
Orthodox Tewahedo Christians and the two major ethnic groups had been targets of Fascist Italy for political extinction or impotency, which the ruling repressive part is emulating vigorously. All in all more than 96% of the Ethiopian people are being forced into subjugation. What a shame!
Azeb Mesfin has been a foster child of the MLLT soaring to the rank of the second powerful person in the Politbureau of the EPRDF dominated by TPLF. She rose to this position owing to the influence of her ‘Casanova’ husband on whom she landed after a wide range of sampling as it was the norm in the bush. She ejected Sebhat Nega, the Stalinist godfather of MLLT/TPLF and took over Nega’s position of CEO of EFFORT thus becoming filthy rich and corrupt supreme.
Under her watch “Addis Ababa of today has become a jungle of immorality comprising tall buildings hiding filthy slums; a terrifying dwelling place for thousands of homeless due to inordinate evictions, drug addicts, sodomites, lesbians, prostitutes, homosexuals, pimps, street dwellers, beggars, nude dancers, army of unemployed youth, undercover human traffickers, corrupt licensed cheap labor exporters to Arab countries and other dehumanizing habits all in full view of the TPLF warlords.. The Capital City would have been a green City envy of the world, but that opportunity has been lost by denuding it of its forest comprising enviable biodiversity and polluting its several rivers in the last 22 years the TPLF regime has been in power.”

Honorees of the Third Annual Ethiopian Heritage Festival, July 26-28, 2013

For the third year, the Ethiopian Heritage Society in North America has selected people who deserve recognition for their heart-felt fight for liberty, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion. Their honor will be extolled at the Third Annual Ethiopian Heritage Festival to be held in Washington, D.C.
The honored individuals and groups are:
Abune Petros – Contribution to the Advancement of Humanity
Abune Petros became a martyr on the 29th of July, 1936, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during the struggle against Italian colonialism. The bishop led a crusade against the invading army’s terror and sophisticated killing machinery. He refused to quit and exhorted his fellow citizens to resist the Italian invasion and Italy’s attempt to rule Ethiopia as one of its colonies. The bishop showed courage and bravery in the face of death by proclaiming to the Italians: “The cry of my countrymen who died due to your nerve-gas and terror machinery will never allow my conscious to accept your ultimatum. How can I see my God, if I give a blind eye to such a crime?” The invading army put him in front of a firing squad and murdered him. Ethiopians went on to oust the Italians from their homeland.

This young journalist has been incarcerated for more than a year in the filthy conditions at Kality Prison in Addis Ababa. Branded as a terrorist by the ruling regime, she is exceptional because of her commitment to work for independent news media when the prospect of doing so became increasingly dangerous. She refused to self-censor, though that practice is standard among journalists weak before the regime. She refused to apologize for truth-telling, though that could have won her freedom. She refused to testify against fellow journalists, though that could have earned her clemency. She is one of many journalists arrested, interrogated, tortured, and even murdered in their own country because of their demands for a free press, and social and political liberty.
Eight Muslim Leaders & Supporters – Contribution to the Advancement of Liberty
The arrest and indictment of 29 prominent Muslims for exercising their basic rights to free speech is another flagrant misuse of Ethiopia’s laws, most notably its anti-terrorism laws. These men have strongly defied the government in the cause of religious freedom. They have held forth that no human or worldly government may dictate to any man or woman how he or she must worship. These people are facing a sham trial and long prison terms. Their cause should continue; they have made a significant contribution to the advancement of human liberty and freedom in Ethiopia as well as around the globe.
Remember Those Who Stand Their Ground
News gets old quickly for human audiences. What seems horrible or wonderful when it first happens, seems less so the following day. Weeks or months later, significant happenings are almost forgotten. In view of this human trait, the Ethiopian Heritage Society of North American feels it necessary to point out that those quests for liberty and human dignity which were important yesterday are still terribly important today. More so are the people involved. On an annual basis at its Ethiopian Heritage Festival, EHSNA tries to remember those people who have paid dearly in their fight for liberty; it endeavors to remind Ethiopians and the rest of the world’s citizens alike of the sacrifices these individuals have made on their behalf.
Honorees Jailed or Deceased
Unfortunately, none of the honorees EHSNA has selected in recognition of their work for liberty are able to be present at the festival. They are in jail or dead. EHSNA has found worthy individuals to accept the recognition awards on behalf of the honorees:

• Abune Gorgorios, a leading scholar in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, will accept the award for the martyred church bishop and national hero, Abune Petros.

• Tizita Belachew, an outstanding journalist in her own right, will be accepting for the talented young journalist and writer, Reeyot Alemu, presently in jail.

• Members of Bader Ethiopia, an International Ethiopian Muslim Association, will accept the award on behalf of the eight Muslim leaders and their supporters, all presently jailed.

After careful consideration, EHSNA feels that the honorees would appreciate the proxies that they have selected on their behalf. The proxies have been asked to speak a few words regarding the honorees at the Third Annual Ethiopian Heritage Festival. Members of the Ethiopian diaspora, Ethiopian Americans, and all friends of Ethiopia are encouraged to join the society at the Annual Ethiopian Heritage Festival as it remembers the sacrifices – and the hope – that these people represent.
