What is there to negotiate with Apartheid beside the surrender for democratic rule?

In the days of mourning Mandela’s passing with all his accomplishments in life one thing stands out than any. He firmly stood for and made a profound mark in history by delivering the unconditional surrender of the savage white minority Apartheid regime. He said, never again…

At about the same time Mandela teardown the Apartheid regime to become the first democratically elected leader of South Africa, Woyane was erecting Apartheid with speed of light in collaboration with a collection of ethnic warlords it assembled to segregate and robe Ethiopians.
To make matter worst, when Mandela, the icon of freedom and democracy was elected by 64.4% the popular vote in his first and only election, Woyane, the guru of treachery, division and corruption that brought shame and Apartheid to our nation got a whopping 99 plus percent vote in all the four [s] election.
For that reason alone, Mandela refused to do anything with the minority Apartheid regime ruling Ethiopia. He must have felt; Woyane that brought shame to a nation he hold dear and feel proud to be a citizen of Ethiopia – reduced to everything he fought against his entire life to abolish.
The fact the modern Woyane Apartheid tyranny showing its ugly face everyday in the shadow of Mandela’s legacy should have been sufficient reason for collection of Woyane stooges or anyone elese to say no to Apartheid and stand tall to be counted in front of the world. Instead, their wicked soul made them do unimaginable things to run wild; biting everyone that tells them to abandon Apartheid and surrender for democratic rule.
Apparently, it was reported the dishonorable Apartheid Prime Minster was on the list of international leaders to attend Madibas’s funeral. No one knows why an Apartheid leader attends the funeral of an anti Apartheid icon beside to insult the man and the people of South Africa. But again, noting is impossible in a make-believe world of Woyane where everything is for sale.
The recent news the rogue regime sent a message to negotiate with Ginbot Seven Movement for Justice, Freedom and Democracy is one of ‘anything is possible’ in Woyane camp and shouldn’t surprise anyone. Like its South Africa counterpart, the Woyane Apartheid regime’s call to negotiate with Ethiopian’s movement is a village boys’ maneuver to buy time to extend the life of self-declare minority Apartheid rule. As bizarre as it sounds — coming from a regime that accused, convicted and sentenced to death the same movement’s leaders on terrorism charge, not to mention the recent plot to assassinate G7 leaders is a photo copy of the work of the long disgraced Apartheid regime of South Africa.
For over two decades, TPLF led ethnic Apartheid regime truly underestimate the patience and tolerance of the people of Ethiopia.  The plea to peacefully surrender power to democratic rule was ignored repeatedly at cost of many lives and resources on the hand of TPLF’s assassins.  It appears the Apartheid warlords haven’t learned a lesson from South Africa to abandon the dived-terrorize-divert stunt to play Ethiopians allover again.
The erratic behavior of the Woyane regime and its apologist’s divide-terrorize-divert cat and mouse game remain the only tool to sustain Woyane rule. The barrage of propaganda and diversion in the form of news, commentary and opinion with multiple identities became the daily diet of Woyane stooges – refusing to abandon Apartheid. No wonder they are confused to tell what they did from one moment to another.
Take for instant the ‘opinion’ piece that came out of nowhere on Aljazeera website titled ‘Ethiopia and Eritrea: Brothers at war no more’. It was written by Goitom Gebreluel, ‘a former lecturer in foreign police at Mekele University and advisor of the International Law and Policy Institute of Norway and Kjetil Tronvoll, a Senior Partner at the same Institute and a professor of peace and conflict studies at Bjorknes College’, according to Aljazeera.
Call it opinion/propaganda/diversion, it reflects the delusional nature of TPLF’s stooges — desperate enough to search for brotherhood in ‘foreign places’ while making enemies in a country they at the moment call their own or vise versa.
One also can’t help but wonder what kind of foreign policy Goitom teaches in Mekele University and what worthy advice he can offer the International Law and Policy Institute of Norway? For that matter, what does foreign policy means in tyranny ruled nation like Ethiopia besides what the tyrant order? Do these clowns honestly believe the cut-and- paste ‘foreign policy’ that suite the Apartheid regime can be thought in the university?
Whatever the rambling opinion may say, we have to admire the dedication of Woyane stooges in general. In fact, the opinion/diversion… says more about the Norwegian International Law and Policy Institute and the Professor of peace and conflict study coned in seeking advice from TPLF’s clown.
Goitom’s opinion with some truth mixed with mostly rubbish is repackaged in TPLF box and rapped with the Professor’s credential and deliver on international Media suppose to make it worthy. Strangely, the opinion that don’t see, don’t hear… evil of the Apartheid regime led by TPLF is typical ‘domestic’ policy of Woyane. But, ‘opinion’ in search of brotherhood with ‘foreigners’ by crossing unmarked boundaries and falsifying historical facts and figures in the wonderland of tyranny warzone doesn’t require expert in foreign policy but warmongering with external enemy to divert domestic problem. Take for instant this convenient insert in the opinion piece;
“The main concern for policy-makers in Addis Ababa is no longer Asmara’s military capacity, but rather the possibility of Eritrea plunging into chaos. This fear is apparently so daunting to Ethiopia that it may prefer a reformed Eritrean government led by People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), rather than the insecurities of a violent power transition next door.”
It goes on;
At the heart of the stalemate are symbolic politics and domestic constraints on both sides – of which the contested border town of Bademe is an embodiment. 
It is very possible that the EPRDF will hand over the symbolic town of Bademe to Eritrea – which was awarded to the latter by the EEBC – but it can only get away with such a move domestically by selling it as a necessary sacrifice for a comprehensive and durable peace. The fact that the individuals leading the current Ethiopian government did not take part in the decision-making processes of the border war and subsequent peace agreement, means that they are less constrained by the commitments of their predecessors.
The sweet talk of ‘the main concern of policy makers in Addis Ababa’ (as if there is a policy making body but TPLF) and ‘the possibility of Eritrea plunging into chaos’ (as if the chaos is the concern of TPLF) and goes on to say Woyane (policy makers) will go as far as sacrificing Bademe (as if Bademe is the cause of conflict) to bring about brotherhood, ‘durable peace’ and stability in Eritrea so that the chaos doesn’t spill in stable Ethiopia. (As if Ethiopia is stable and the two tyrannies making up will bring comprehensive and durable peace)
It seems TPLF’s stooges have selective amnesia as Ethiopians and as they had as non Ethiopians.  Regardless, reading the bizarre opinion should remind Ethiopians to expect more wacky behavior to come from TPLF’s Apartheid camp in a desperate attempt to prevent the demise of Woyane.
What is even funnier is when an opinion is written by two drastically different people, one from what looks like from the future policy adviser of the ‘Republic of Tigray’ and the other from the citizen of the Democratic nation of Norway. The convenient marriage of the two should remind us our people saying ‘የቸገረው እርጉዝ ያገባል’. Before we know it, TPLF stooges would be the leading expert in foreign policy and peace making between Ethiopians and Eritreans and the region.
Few years ago, TPLF led ethnic Apartheid regime of Ethiopia labeled every leader of political movement, civic and religious group and Media personality terrorists or associates. And, Eritrea became terrorist sponsoring state.  All of a sudden the Apartheid regime is looking for negotiation and brotherhood with ‘a terrorist group and state’ what went wrong?
Come to think of it, the self-declared minority Apartheid regime has no choice why it behaves the way it does. The demand to surrender for democratic rule means the end of Woyane ethnic tyranny. As expected, it would do anything to preserve something that doesn’t belong to it.
As early as few month ago the Wolyata warlord/Prime Minster that supposedly replaced the mastermind of  Apartheid and the late Tigray ethnic warlord/Prime Minster was uttering the same old terrorist insult on the same patriotic Ethiopians while TPLF goons intensify harassing, jailing and torturing innocent Ethiopians.
The lawless Apartheid regime’s warlords don’t seem to comprehend the enormity of the crimes they committed against the people of Ethiopia. They think the problem is going to go away by public relation stunt they concoct and spin on the dozen of propaganda machine they control and bankrolled with stolen money –feeding the world rubbish.
The regime apologists don’t also seem to understand Ethiopians’ tolerance of their indiscretion either. They are babysitting a criminal ethnic Apartheid regime against the will and interest of their own people. They also think their conspiracy to divert the crimes is going to help them escape accountability.
By now, it is clear for one-and-all the callousness of the warlords wouldn’t allow the message to get in their head. Likewise, the stupidity of the apologists — horded as herd of cattle couldn’t allow them to open their eyes and ears to see and hear the gathering danger of sleeping with ethnic Apartheid tyranny.
At this juncture of the struggle, Ethiopians must speak in one voice and make it abundantly clear TPLF led ethnic Apartheid regime’s rule must end now without delay. People must realize the regime’s crime isn’t isolated incidence of a typical tyranny we are used to in Africa but a well orchestrated conspiracy against the people of Ethiopia and the nation.
If the regime’s apologist wants a quick resolution to the havoc their conspiracy caused for their own sake they should abandon the Apartheid regime while they can. The last thing they should do is stick with the regime and run around the globe searching for diversion in an attempt to sustain a modern day Apartheid.

The ethnic elites that have been negotiating the people’s rights with the Apartheid regime or with each other must also take responsibility. They can no longer experiment their off the wall adventure on expenses of the people without personal consequences for their actions.
As to the rest of Ethiopians, there is a historical lesson everyone should learn out of the crimes of the ethnic Apartheid regime.  That is, silence or looking the other way on the impunity of a rogue regime costs lives and compromise the wellbeing of the people and the nation. We have to realize, no matter what our wish may be; there is no negotiation on the democratic rights of our people, no matter what.
Therefore, Ethiopians must collectively say no bargaining on the lives and wellbeing of our people in the name of one thing or another. Simply put, and paraphrasing what Ginbot Seven responded to Woyane, there is noting to negotiate with anyone let alone the ethnic Apartheid regime besides the unconditional surrender for democratic rule.
Thus, no matter how we like or dislike the massager, the message of Ginbot Seven to the ethnic Apartheid regime should be the message of every living and breathing Ethiopian organization.
Blaming Woyane or anyone else is not enough
The infighting on none issue among the oppositions must be stopped on its track by popular demand to speed up democratization and the surrender of Apartheid tyranny for good. Every political party, civic organization and Media must be confronted to clean house to that end.
We have to understand; there are no many formulas to institute democratic rule but one. There are no multiple rights and freedom but, one-for-all. There are no selective victims of Apartheid but one; the people of Ethiopia. There are no different rule of laws that suites multiple parties but one democratic rule for all.
Then what is the fuss about besides the elites fantasizing their wishes when our people suffer on the hand of the crude ethnic Apartheid tyranny – in poverty, disease and into slavery.
The time has come for Ethiopians to take charge of the struggle and demands all political parties to shape up or ship out. At the end of the day, if and when politician bell out, Ethiopians are the one picking up the pieces themselves – as we are witnessing when our people suffer in the hands of a medieval Arab tyranny abroad and an ethnic Apartheid tyranny at home.
Let one-and-all know there is no way out of the stalemate until the Apartheid regime surrender for democratic rule. Anyone in the way should be considered public enemy. The rest of the side shows we see is coming from expected places.
Finally, when we celebrate the life and legacy of the honorable Mandela, unfortunately, we are living under Woyane Apartheid — playing cat-and-mouse on the expense of our people.  If we truly want to bring down the modern day Woyane Apartheid regime and make history we have to reject it in its entirety and not simply react to its inevitable crimes. We should know better, there is noting to be modified about Apartheid but, scraped from its roots. But, it requires principled stand on democratic rule on behalf of the people. Our failure to collectively stand for democratic rule kept us victims of tyranny and Apartheid. What a shame.
As to the stooges of the Woyane Apartheid regime, they should be advised; noting they say or do worth a penny, noting. We have to remind them again-and- again and everywhere they show up to promote the ugly face of Apartheid until surrender for the unavoidable democratic rule.

የራስን እድል በራስ መወሰን፣ እርስ በርስ እስከማጣላት…

ሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ የተዋረደበት፤ የብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ቀን – በኦጋዴን!

ዘንድሮ በኢትዮጵያ ተከበረ የተባለውን የብሄሮች ቀን ምን ያህሎቻችሁ እንደተከታተላቹህ አላቅም። ላላያችሁት ግንዛቤ ለመፍጠር ያህል… ዘንድሮ በአሉ የተከበረው ሱማሌ ክልል፣ በኦጋዴን ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ መሆኑን በመንገር ወጋችንን እንጀምራለን። ይህ ዝግጅት እስከዛሬ በትግራይም፣ በአማራውም ክልል ተደርጓል… ሆኖም በአሉ ላይ ሁሉም የየብሄሩን ባህል ለማሳየት ሲጥር እንጂ፤ አንደኛው ብሄር ሌላውን ሲሰድብ ያየንበት አጋጣሚ አልነበረም። የዚህ አመቱ የብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ወይም የብሄረተኞች ቀን ሌላውን ኢትዮጵያዊ በመውቀስ ላይ የተመሰረተ ነበር።
“አማራው፣ ደገኛው፣ የመሃል አገር ሰው…” እያሉ ቀጠሉ አስተያየት ሰጪዎቹ። በአሉን ምክንያት በማድረግ በኮንፈረንሱ ላይ የተገኙት ታዳሚዎች ወቀሳቸውን ቀጠሉ፤ “የመሃል አገር ሰዎች ‘ሽርጣም ሱማሌ’ እያሉ ይጠሩን ነበር” አለ። እኛንም በሃሳብ ወደኋላ መለሰን። የመሃል አገር ሰው ይህንን ቃል አይጠቀምበትም ለማለት አይደለም። ነገር ግን “ሽርጣም ሱማሌ” የሚለውን ቃል መስማት የጀመርነው፤ በኢትዮጵያ እና ሱማሌ ጦርነት ወቅት ነው። “ሽርጣም ሱማሌ” የሚለውን አባባል ሁሉም የመሃል አገር ሰው እንደማይጠቀምበት ሁሉ፤ በቴሌቭዥን መስኮት ላይ ብቅ ብለው ሌላውን ኢትዮጵያ የሰደቡት እና ያሰደቡትም መላውን የኢትዮጵያ ሱማሌ እንደማይወክሉ እናውቃልን። በመሆኑም ይህ ጽሁፍ በሁሉም የኢትዮጵያ ሱማሌዎች ላይ ያነጣጠረ ሳይሆን፤ የማያውቁትን ታሪክ ለማሳወቅ ያህል የተዘጋጀ መሆኑን ልብ ይበሉ።

በዳዊት ከበደ ወየሳ
በ1969 ዓ.ም. ሱማሌ ኢትዮጵያን ስትወር፤ እጅግ በርካታ ኢትዮጵያውያንን አፈናቅለዋል፤ ገድለዋል፤ በሺህ የሚቆጠሩትን ማርከው ወስደው አገራቸው ውስጥ አስረዋል። ሱማሌዎች ይህንን በሚያደርጉበት ወቅት ታዲያ ሽርጥ እንጂ ሱሪ ታጥቀው አይደለም። በዚያን ወቅት ታዲያ የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች ዳር ከዳር “ሆ” ብለው ሲነሱ፤ በወገናቸው ላይ የደረሰው በደል ቢያንገበግባቸው፤ “ይሄ ሽርጣም ሱማሌ” ብለው ቢሳደቡ ሊገርመን አይገባም። ከዚያ በፊት በነበሩት ጦርነቶች ፈረንጆች ኢትዮጵያን ሲወሩ፤ “ይሄ ሶላቶ” ብለው እንደሚጠሯቸው ጠላት የነበረውን የሱማሌ ታጣቂ “ይሄ ሽርጣም” እያሉ በመፎከር፤ የገባበት ገብተው ደምሠውታል፤ ዳግመኛም የኢትዮጵያን ድንበር እንዳይሻገር አድርገውታል።
በ1970 የሱማሌ ጦር ሙሉ ለሙሉ በኢትዮጵያውያን ብርቱ ክንድ ተደመሰሰ። ከጅጅጋ እና አካባቢው ተፈናቅለው የነበሩት የኢትዮጵያ ሱማሌዎች ወደ ድሮ መንደራቸው ተመልሰው፤ ከሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ ጋር ሰላማዊ ኑሯቸውን ቀጠሉ። “ሽርጣም ሱማሌ” የሚለውም አባባል እየቀረና እየተረሳ መጣ። ዘንድሮ በሱማሌ ክልል፣ በአሉ ሲከበር… ሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ ለሱማሌ ኢትዮጵያ የሰራው ውለታ ተረስቶ፤ የመሃል አገር ሰዎች “ሽርጣም ሱማሌ እያሉ ይሰድቡን ነበር” የሚል የጥላቻ መልዕክት ሲተላለፍ ሰማን።
ሌላው አስተያየት ሰጪ ደግሞ ቀጠለ። “ድሮ ያስተማሩኝ ሰዎች ስማቸው ‘በቀለ፣ መኮንን፣ በየነ’ ነበር። አሁን ግን ጊዜው ተቀይሯል። አስተማሪዎቻችን ስማቸው መሃመድ እና አብዱል ሆኗል።” በማለት ለኢህአዴግን መንግስት ምስጋና ሲያቀርብ ስንሰማ፤ ጆሯችንን ማመን አቅቶን ተገረምነ። ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ትምህርት ሲጀመር፤ የዳግማዊ ምኒልክ ት/ቤት የመጀመሪያ መምህራን የመጡት ከግብጽ አገር ነበር። በኋላም ላይ ከህንድ ድረስ መምህራን እየመጡ አስተምረዋል፤ ወይም አስተምረውናል። በውጭ ሰው ስለተማርን… “ለምን የውጭ ሰው አስተማረን?” ብለን አንቆጭም፤ ይልቁንም ለእነዚህ መምህራን አክብሮት እና ምስጋናችንን እናቀርባለን እንጂ። በሱማሌ የተመለከትነው ግን ከዚህ የተለየ ነበር… እቺም እድሜ ሆና… እነበቀለ፣ መኮንን እና በየነ የሚባል ስም የነበራቸው ኢትዮጵያውያን ስላስተማሯቸው የሚናደዱ ሰዎችን ለማየት በቃን።
ደግሞም አንድ ሌላ እያሳቀ የሚያናድድ ነገር ሰማን። ሌላው አስተያየት ሰጪ እንዲህ አለ። “አካባቢያችን ልጅ ምግብ አልበላም ብሎ ሲያስቸግር፤ ‘አማራ መጥቶ እንዳይበላብህ’ በማለት ልጁ አማራ ሳይመጣበት ቶሎ እንዲበላ እናደርግ ነበር።” አለ።
“ጉድ እኮ ነው የሱማሌ ኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ አማራውን ይህን ያህል ይጠሉት ነበር? ማስፈራሪያስ አድርገውት ነበር?” እያልን ተገርመን ሳናበቃ ይኸው ሰውዬ ንግግሩን ቀጠለ።
“በሌላ በኩል ደግሞ የመሃል አገር ሰዎች (አዲሳባ ያለው ሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ መሆኑ ነው) ልጆቻቸው ምግብ አልበላም ብለው ሲያስቸግሯቸው፤ “ሱማሌ እንዳልጠራብህ!” ብለው ሲያስፈሯቸው፤ ምግቡን ጥርግ አርገው ይበሉ ነበር።” ሲል ሰማን። አብረውኝ ኢቲቪን ይመለከቱ የነበሩ “የመሃል አገር” ሰዎችን በጣም አሳቃቸው። እርስ በርስ ተያየንና “ሱማሌ እንዳይመጣብህ!” ተብሎ ምግብ ሲበላ የነበረ ከመሃላችን ነበር?” ብሎ ጠየቀ አንዱ…
ሌላኛው “እኛ አያጅቦን ነው የምናውቀው” ሲል ትንሽ አሳቀን።
“ሱማሌ ሳይመጣብህ!” ተብሎ እያስፈራሩ ምግብ ያስበሉት ይፍረደን” በማለት በጉዳዩ ላይ ስቀን ልናልፍ እንችል ይሆናል። ነገር ግን … ለአማራው ድርጅት ‘ቆሜያለሁ’ የሚለው ብአዴን/ኢህአዴግ ነገሩን እንዴት አይቶት ይሆን?
የብሄር በሄረሰቦችን ቀን ምክንያት በማድረግ የሚተላለፈው የጥላቻ አስተያየት አሁንም እንደቀጠለ ነው። ኢቲቪን ከመዝጋታችን በፊት ሌላ አስተያየትም አደመጥን። ሰውየው እንባ እየተናነቃቸው፤ “መናገሻ ከተማችንን አዲሳባን ለማየት እንኳን አይፈቀድልንም ነበር።” ብለው ሲሉ፤ በራስ ተፈሪ መኮንን ዘመን የነበሩ የሱማሌ ፖሊሶች ታወሱን። በወቅቱ በአዲስ አበባ፤ በፖሊስነት ተቀጥረው ሰአት እላፊ እና ጸጥታ የሚያስከብሩት የመጀመሪያ ባለደሞዝ የአዲስ አበባ ፖሊሶች የሱማሌ ኢትዮጵያውያን ነበሩ። እናም “አዲስ አበባን ለማየት እንኳን አይፈቀድልንም ነበር” እያሉ የሚያለቅሱትን አዛውንት አይተን፤ “ወደ አዲስ አበባ መሳፈሪያ ካላጡ በቀር የባቡር መስመር ከተዘረጋ ራሱ፤ መቶ አመት አልፎታል”። በማለት ታዝበናቸው ዝም አልን።
ሌላዋ ሴት ደግሞ ቀጠለች። ሴትዮዋ መናገር ስላለባት ብቻ የምትናገር ነው የምትመስለው… “የድሮ እና የአሁኑን ሳስተያየው በጣም ብዙ ልዩነት አለው” ብላ ጀመረች። ልጅቷ እንኳንስ ስለቀዳማዊ ሃአይለስላሴ ዘመን ቀርቶ ስለደርግ ለማውራት እድሜዋ የሚፈቅድላት አይደለችም። ወሬዋን ግን በድፍረት ቀጠለች። “የድሮና የአሁኑ በጣም ልዩነት አለው… ዑውውውው።” በማለት የአሁኑን አዳነቀች። አድናቆቷን ሳታቋርጥ “የድሮ እና የአሁኑን ልዩነት ለመግለጽ ቃላቶች ያጥሩኛል” ብላ በቃላት እጥረት ምክንያት ልዩነቱን ሳትነግረን ቀረች።
ሌላው ደግሞ እንዲህ አለ። “ይሄ አካባቢ ለወታደራዊ ጦር ካምፕ ይጠቀሙበት ነበር እንጂ፤ ለህዝቡ ግድ አልነበራቸውም።” አለን። እውነት ነው። ፈረንሳይ ከጅቡቲ አልፋ ወደ ኢትዮጵያ የመስፋፋት ብዙም ህልም አልነበራትም። እንግሊዝ እና ጣልያን ግን… ሁለቱም ከሱማልያ ግዛቶቻቸው ተነስተው፤ ኦጋዴን እና አካባቢውን ጨምረው እስከ ሃረር ድረስ ለመግዛት፤ ግልጽ የሆነ እቅድ እና ሙከራ አድርገው ነበር። ሱማሊያ ነጻ ከወጣች በኋላ ደግሞ ከራሽያ ባገኘችው የጦር መሳርያ በመታገዝ እጅግ ከፍተኛ ወታደራዊ እንቅስቃሴ አድርጋለች። በዚህ ጊዜ ሁሉ ሰራዊቱ ከመሃል አገር እየተነሳ፤ ኦጋዴን እና አካባቢው በውጭ ሃይሎች ስር እንዳይወድቅ ወታደራዊ እንቅስቃሴዎች ተደርገዋል። ይህ ሌላውን አገር በወታደራዊ ኃይል የመከላከል ስራ… ዛሬ ስሙ እና ውለታው ተረስቶ “አካባቢውን የወታደር ካምፕ አደርገውብን ነበር” በሚል ወቀሳ መቀየሩ ይገርማል።
አብረውን የነበሩት ጓደኞቼ በኢቲቪ ተናደዋል። ቴሌቪዥኑን ከመስበራቸው በፊት በሰላም ዘጋነውና ሰላማዊ ጨዋታችንን ጀመርን። “ለመሆኑ ሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ ደገኛ፣ የመሃል አገር፣ ክርስቲያን፣ አማራ…” እየተባለ ቅጽል እየወጣለት መሰደብ አለበት ወይ? ይህ ደገኛም ሆነ ነፍጠኛ ያሉት ኢትዮጵያዊ ለዚያ ህዝብ ውለታ አላደረገምን? ዝርዝር ውስጥ አንገባም። ሆኖም በታሪክ ቅኝት ወደኋላ መለስ ብለን የእውነትን ማህደር በማገላበጥ ታሪክን እስኪ እንመርምር። እንዲህ ነው።
ወደ አጼ ምኒልክ ዘመን እንሂድ… በፊት በቱርኮች፤ በኋላ ደግሞ በግብጾች ሲተዳደር የነበረው ህዝብ የጠመንጃውን አፈሙዝ በኢትዮጵያውያን ላይ አነጣጥሮ እንደነበር ይታወቃል። በ1524 ዓ.ም. ግራኝ አህመድ እና አሊ ኑር እንደገነኑት ሁሉ፤ በ1876 ዓ.ም. ደግሞ አሚር አብዱላሂን ጨምሮ ሌሎች የአካባቢው ገዢዎች ጉልበታቸው የደረጀበት ወቅት ነበር። በወቅቱ ነዋሪውን በቁጥጥራቸው ስር አውለው፤ “በክርስቲያን መንግስት አንገዛም” ማለታቸው እንደተጠበቀ ሆኖ፤ ከዚያ እምነት ውጪ የነበሩትን የገደሉበትና ያጠፉበት ታሪክ ነው ያለን። (ይህም በአረብኛ ተጽፎ የሚገኝ ሰፊ ታሪክ ያለው ጉዳይ ነው) አሚር አብዱላሂም ቢሆን፤ ለአጼ ምኒልክ “አልገብርም” ማለት ብቻ ሳይሆን፤ “አንተም እንደኛ ካልሰለምክ በስተቀር፤ በክርስቲያን ንጉሥ አንገዛም” በማለት ለአጼ ምኒልክ፣ ሽርጥ፣ መቁጠርያ እና መስገጃ ምንጣፍ ነበር የላከላቸው።
አጼ ምኒልክ የተላከላቸውን ሽርጥ፣ መቁጠሪያ እና መስገጃ አብረዋቸው ለነበሩ ሙስሊሞች ሰጥተው፤ ፊታቸውን ወደምስራቅ ኢትዮጵያ አዙረው፤ በአሚር አብዱላሂ የሚመራውን ጦር፤ ጨለንቆ ላይ ገጠሙት። በዚያ የጨለንቆ ጦርነት በርካታ ኢትዮጵያውያን አለቁ። ከሚንልክ ጋር የነበሩ የአማራ ተኳሾች እና የኦሮሞ ፈረሰኞች፤ የአሚር አብዱላሂን ጦር አሸነፉት። ጥር 18 ቀን፣ 1879 አካባቢው በምኒልክ ጦር ነጻ ወጣ። አሚር አብዱላሂም በጅጅጋ አድርጎ አገር ጥሎ ጠፋ።
በኋላ ላይ የአሚር አብዱላሂ ዘመዶች ወደምኒልክ ዘንድ መጥተው፤ “እባክዎን አገሩን እንዳያጠፉት” ቢሏቸው፤ “እኔ አገር አቀናለሁ እንጂ አላጠፋም። እዚህ ድረስ የመጣሁትም ሃይማኖት ለማጥፋት አይደለም። ሁሉም ሰው እንደየ እምነቱ ያድራል።” ብለው ወደጀጎል በሰላም ሲሸኙዋቸው፤ ከነሱም ጋር እነበጅሮንድ አጥናፌ እና እነሻቃ ተክሌ የኢትዮጵያ ሰንደቅ አላማ ይዘው ሀረር ገቡ። ከዚያ በኋላ አካባቢው በርግጠኝነት የኢትዮጵያ ግዛትነቱ ታውቆ፤ በአምስቱም የጀጎል በሮች ላይ የኢትዮጵያ ሰንደቅ አላማ እንዲሰቀል ሆነ። 3ሺህ ወታደሮችም ከራስ መኮንን እንዲቀሩ አድርገው፤ ክልሉ እንደገና በኢትዮጵያ መንግስት ስር ይተዳደር ጀመር።
አጼ ምኒልክ ወደ አዲስ አበባ ሲመለሱ፤ የማረኩትን የግብጽ ወታደሮች አልገደሏቸውም። ይልቁንም ግብጾቹ የአሚር አብዱላሂን ጦር ለማበረታት ወታደራዊ ማርሽ ያሰሙ ነበር። አሁንም የምኒልክ ጦር በድል አድራጊነት ወደ አዲስ አበባ ሲገባ፤ አጼ ምኒልክ እነዚህኑ የጦር ሙዚቀኞች ታምቡር እያስመቱና ጥሩንባ እያስነፉ በወታደራዊ ስነ ስርአት አዲስ አበባ ሲገቡ ህዝቡ ግራና ቀኝ ተሰልፎ በታላቅ ደስታ እና እልልታ ተቀበላቸው። ያንጊዜ ታዲያ ማርከው ያመጡት ግብጾቹን ብቻ ሳይሆን፤ ለማዳ እርግቦች በሽቦ ቤት ያሉ እርግቦች እና ትላልቅ ሰሎግ ውሻዎች ጭምር ነበር። ያኔ ታዲያ እንዲህ ተባለ…
የምኒልክ ነገር፣ ይመስለኛል ተረት፤
አሞራው በቀፎ፣ ውሻው በሰንሰለት።
ይህ የሆነው የካቲት 28፣ 1879 ዓ.ም. ነው። እንግዲህ ሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ የሚያውቀው እውነት ይህ ሆኖ ሳለ፤ የአካባቢው ሰዎች “ክልላችንን የጦር ካምፕ አደረጉብን” በማለት ምኒልክን እንደጨፍጫፊ እና ተስፋፊ ሲያዩ “እንቁላል ለመጥበስ መጀመሪያ ቅርፊቱን መስበር ያስፈልጋል” ከማለት ሌላ ብዙም የምንለው አይኖርም። ይልቁንስ ከአስር አመታት በፊት ይመስለናል… በዚሁ ኢቲቪ የተመከትነው አንድ ለቅሶ ነበር። ስለኢትዮጵያ አንድነት ሲባል፤ ምኒልክ እና አሚር አብዱላሂ ጦርነት ያካሄዱበት ጨለንቆ ድረስ ሄደው፤ መሬቱን ቆፍረው የሟቾችን አጽም ከመቶ አመት በኋላ በማውጣት፤ “ምኒልክ የጨፈጨፏቸው…” ብለው ደረት እየመቱ ሲያለቅሱና ሲያስለቅሱ አይተን፤ “ወይ ታሪክ!?” ብለን ያለፍንበት አጋጣሚ ተፈጥሮ ነበር።
በሱማሌ ክልል የተከበረው የብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ቀን እና በሌላው ኢትዮጵያዊ ላይ የደረሰው ውርደት ምን ያህሉን ሰው እንዳበሳጨው ለማወቅ ያስቸግራል። እኛ ግን እንላለን… “የአካባቢው ሰዎች ታሪካቸውንና ማንነታቸውን ወይም ታሪካችንን እና ማንነታችንን አያውቁም ማለት ነው። ሰው ሱማሌ፣ ኦሮሞ ወይም አማራ ስለሆነ አዋቂ አይሆንም። አገር እና ብሄር ሰውን አይለውጥም፤ ትምህርት ግን ሰውን ይለውጣል” ስለዚህ አሁንም ትንሽ ወደኋላ መለስ ብለን የጋራ ታሪካችንን እንጨዋወት፤ በዚያው እንማማር፤ እንለወጥ።
እንደ እውነቱ ከሆነ፤ ይህ አካባቢ ከጥንት ጀምሮ በኦሮሞ ኢትዮጵያውያን ተይዞ የነበረ ክፍለ ግዛት ነው። በ10ኛው ክፍለዘመን የሱማሌ ነገድ ከታጁራ ቤይ ተነስቶ መስፋፋት ሲጀምር የኦሮሞን ህዝብ እየተገፋ፤ በዋቢ ሸበሌ እና ጁባ ወንዝ መሃል በሚገኘው ቤናዲር በሚባለው ቦታ ላይ እንዲቆይ አድርጎት ነበር። በኋላም ኦሮሞዎቹን… ከታች የባንቱ ህዝብ ከላይ ሱማሌ ሲያስቸግራቸው ወደ ወላቡ፣ አበያ፣ ባሌ ድረስ ዘልቆ ራሱን በገዳ ስርአት እያደራጀ ቆይቶ፤ የግራኝ አህመድ ልጅ ወራሽ የሆነውን አሊ ኑርን ሐዘሎ ላይ ገጥሞ በ1551 ዓ.ም. እስከሚደመስሰው ድረስ በመሃል ብዙ ታሪኮች አልፈዋል። ከ10ኛው እስከ20ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ድረስ አካባቢው በዚህ አይነት ምስቅልቅል ውስጥ ነው የቆየው።
በኢትዮጵያ ክልል ውስጥ የነበረው ምስቅልቅል እንዳለ ሆኖ፤ በተለያዩ ጊዜያት ከሱማልያ ግዛት የጦር መሳርያ ይዘው በመግባት፤ የኦሮሞውን ህዝብ በመግደል እና ከብቱን በመዝረፍ፤ ህዝቡን በማፈናቀል ብዙ ግፍ ተሰርቷል። እንደ እውነቱ ከሆነ ይህ ክልል፤ በሌሎች ላብ እና ደም የተገነባ ክልል ነው። ይህን በማለት ወደኋላ ተመልሰን የምንቀይረው ነገር የለም። ሆኖም የማያውቁትን ወይም እያወቁ ሊያውቁ የማይፈልጉትን አንዳንድ ነገሮች ብናስታውሳቸው ክፋት የለውም።
በምኒልክ ዘመን ከተፈጠሩት አኩሪ ገድሎች መካከል የአድዋ ጦርነት አንደኛው ነው። ይህ ጦርነት የካቲት 23 ቀን 1888 ዓ.ም. በድል ከተጠናቀቀ በኋላ፤ በጦር ተማራኪዎች ላይ እርምጃ እንዲወሰድ ምኒልክ ዘንድ ምርኮኞችን አቀረቧቸው። ምኒልክ ምርኮኞች እንዲገደሉ አላደረጉም። ፈረንጅ ተማራኪዎችን ወደ አዲስ አበባ ይዘው ሲመለሱ፤ በኤርትራ እና በሱማሌ ተወላጆች ላይ ለየት ያለ ፍርድ ሰጡ። “ከአውሮፓ ወራሪ ጋር ሆነው የገዛ ወገናቸው ላይ ጥይት መተኮሳቸው ያሳዝናል። አሁንም ቀሪው ህዝብ እነሱን እያየ እንዲማር፤ ተንበርክከው የተኮሱበት ግራ እግራቸው እና ቃታ የሳቡበት ቀኝ እጃቸው ይቆረጥ።” ብለው ፈረዱ እንጂ አልገደሏቸውም።
ወደ አሁኑ የሱማሌ ክልል ልውሰዳቹህ። አካባቢው በ1879 ነጻ ከወጣ በኋላ ህዝቡ በሰላም መኖር ቢጀምርም፤ ኦሮሞዎቹ መሬት እና ከብታቸውን መነጠቃቸው ሊቆም አልቻለም። በወቅቱ የነበሩት የአካባቢው ኦሮሞዎች በተደጋጋሚ በሚደረግባቸው የድንበር ውጊያ ምክንያት ከብቶቻቸውን እየተዘረፉ፤ መሬታቸውን እየተነጠቁ፤ የሞቱት ሞተው፤ የቀሩት አካባቢውን እየለቀቁ ወጡ። ባለንበት ዘመን ደግሞ ሰዎቹን ብቻ ሳይሆን የሰጡትን ስያሜ ጭምር ሊቀይሩት ሲጥሩ ተመለከትን። ለምሳሌ “ጅጅጋ” ማለት በኦሮምኛ “ዝቅ ዝቅ” እንደማለት ነው (የአካባቢው ከፍታ ዝቅ ያለ በመሆኑ የተሰጠ ስያሜ ነው)። ከቅርብ ጊዜ ወዲህ ግን “ጅጅጋ” ማለታችውን ትተው “ጅግጅጋ” በሚል መጤ ስያሜ ለመቀየር እና አዲስ ስም ለመስጠት የሚሯሯጡ ሰዎችን ታዝበናል።
የቅርቡን ታሪክ ትተን… እንደገና ወደኋላ እንመለስ። ይህ ሁሉ ግፍ በኦሮሞዎቹ ላይ ሲሰራባቸው፤ ሌሎች ኢትዮጵያውያን ዝም አላሉም። ይልቁንም በራስ መኮንን አስተዳደር ወቅት… የሱማሌ እና የኦሮሞ ህዝቦችን በሚያጣሉት የድንበር ቦታዎች ላይ በሙሉ፤ ነፍጥ የያዙ ወታደሮች ተመደቡ። በኋላ ክልሉን ለቀው ሊሄዱ ሲሉ፤ ህዝቡ እንቢ ብሎ መሬት እየሰጠ፤ ልጆቻቸውን እየዳሩላቸው ኑሯቸውንም እዚያው አደረጉ። እነዚህ ነፍጥ አንጋቾች ወይም ነፍጠኞች…. አብዛኛዎቹ ከሰሜን ሸዋ የተውጣጡ ጎበዝ አልሞ ተኳሾች ነበሩ። ሱማሌው እንደለመደው የኦሮሞውን ከብት እና እርሻ ለመዝረፍ ድንበር እያለፈ ሲመጣ፤ በጥይት እየለቀሙ ስርአት አስያዙት። የ85 አመት አዛውንት የሆኑት አቶ ሉልሰገድ ጎበና የሚነግሩን ቁም ነገር አለ… ቀደም ሲል በ1879 ምኒልክ ድል ሲያደርጉ እነሻቃ ተክሌን ሰንደቅ አላማ አስይዘው ወደሃረር መላካቸውን ተጨዋውተን ነበር። (የሻቃ ተክሌ ልጆች ደግሞ ፊታውራሪ ዝቅ አድርጌ እና ግራዝማች መኩሪያ ብዙ ታሪክ ያላቸው ጀግኖች ናቸው።) የሻቃ ተክሌ የልጅ፣ ልጅ፣ ልጅ ናቸው – አቶ ሉልሰገድ። በወቅቱ ልጅ ነበሩ።
በአያታቸው ጊዜ የነበረውን ሁኔታ ያስታውሳሉ። የነገሩኝን ዝርዝር ታሪክ ሰብሰብ አድርጌ ላስነብባችሁ። እንዲህ አሉኝ… “በኋላ ላይ አያቴ ግራዝማች መኩርያ ተክሌ ወደ ጅቡቲ ድንበር አስተዳዳሪ ሆነው ተመደቡ። ከአፋሮች ጋር ጥሩ ወዳጅ ሆነው ነበር። ሱማሌዎቹ ተደራጅተው ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ሲዘልቁ፤ አፋሮቹ መጥተው ይነግሯቸዋል። ከዚያም ግራዝማች ሱማሌዎቹን እየተከታተሉ ይቀጧቸው ነበር…” እኚህ እና ሌሎች ኢትዮጵያውያን ኑሯቸውን እዚሁ አድርገው፤ እስከ2ኛ የጣልያን ወረራ ድረስ ዘልቀዋል። ከጣልያን ጦርነት በኋላ ኤጄርሳ ጎሩን አስተዳድረዋል። በዚህ አይነት ወልደው እና ከብደው የኖሩትን ሰዎች ነው ታድያ… ዛሬ በብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ሽፋን የሚሰድቧቸው።
“ክልላችንን የጦር ካምፕ አደረጉት” አልነበር የተባለው? እንግዲያው ሌላም ታሪክ እንጨምር። በ1953 ዓ.ም. በዋርዴር እና በገላዲን አካባቢ የሱማሌ ጦር በወገናችን ላይ ጉዳት ሲያደርስ፤ በመልሶ ማጥቃት ዘመቻ የ3ኛ ክፍለ ጦር አንድ ሻምበል ተንቀሳቅሶ ድል ተጎናጽፎ ነበር። በዚያው አመት ጄነራል አማን አምዶም ቡርበርዴን እና ቡክሲን አልፎ ሲመጣ… በጥቂት እግረኛ፣ መድፈኛ እና ፓራ ኮማንዶ ወታደሮች ወሰን አልፈው የመጡ የሱማሌ ወራሪዎችን ደምስሠዋል። ኢትዮጵያውያን በዚህ የኦጋዴን በርሃ የተሰዉት አካባቢውን የጦር ካምፕ ለማድረግ ሳይሆን ህዝቡን ከወራሪ ለመጠበቅ መሆኑን ለማወቅ ዲግሪ መጫን አይኖርብንም። በዚህ የምስራቁን ድንበር በማስከበር ላይ ከተሰማሩት ጀግኖች መካከል፤ በኦጋዴን በርሃ የእድሜውን ማምሻ የጨረሰውን ጀግናው አብዲሳ አጋን መጥቀስ ያስፈልጋል። የሱማሌ ባህል እና ብሄራዊ ማንነቱ እንደተከበረ ሆኖ፤ የኢትዮጵያውያን የህይወት መስዋዕትነት ሊዘነጋ አይገባም።
ዘንድሮ በሱማሌ ክልል የብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ቀን ሲከበር፤ ሌላውን ብሄር በመሳደብ ከሚከበር ይልቅ… ሌላው ብሄረሰብ ለዚህ ክልል ያደረገውን መልካም ነገር በማስታወስ፤ ታሪካቸውን በማወደስ… ሌላውን ኢትዮጵያዊ የሚያከብሩበትና የሚያመሰግኑበት ጥሩ አጋጣሚ ይሆን ነበር። ይህ ግን ሳይሆን ቀረና፤ የትላንቱ ታሪክ ተረስቶ… ጆሯችን የስድብ ውርጅብኝ ለማዳመጥ በቃ።
እሩቅ ባልሆነው በትላንት ታሪካችን… አካባቢው በሱማሌ ወራሪ ሃይል ሲያዝ የነበረውን ሁኔታ በማስታወስ ስንብት እናደርጋለን። በወቅቱ የሱማሌ ጦር ከራሽያ ያገኘው የጦር መሳሪያ ከኢትዮጵያ በአምስት እጥፍ የሚበልጥ ነበር። ይህን ሃይል በመያዝ በምስራቅ በኩል እስከ አዋሽ ያለውን የኢትዮጵያ መሬት ለመያዝ በቅተው ነበር። በገላዲን፣ በጅጅጋ፣ በደገሃቡር፣ በቀብሪደሃር፣ በጎዴ… እስከ ድሬዳዋ ድረስ የሱማሌ ጦር በምድር እና በአየር እየታገዘ ኢትዮጵያን እና ህዝቧን ወርሯል። ይህ ሁሉ ወረራ ሲደረግ ታዲያ… የሱማልያ ጦር ዝም ብሎ… መንገዱ አልጋ ባልጋ ሆኖለት አይደለም የገባው። በያንዳንዱ ግንባር የኢትዮጵያ ወታደሮችን እየገደለ፤ ሰላማዊ የሆነውን የአካባቢውን ነዋሪ እየጨፈጨፈ ነበር – ድሬዳዋ ድረስ የዘለቀው።
እነዚህን ሁሉ አካባቢዎች መልሶ በማጥቃት ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ለመመለስ የተከፈለው መስዋዕትነት ቀላል አልነበረም። በአካባቢው የነበረው 3ኛ ክፍለ ጦር እና የኢትዮጵያ አየር ኃይል የፈጸሙት ታላቅ ጀብዱ ምንግዜም በታሪክ የሚወደስ ነው። F-5 ተዋጊ ጀቶች ከደብረዘይት እየተነሱ የሱማሌን እግረኛ በመትረየስ ሲረመርሙት፤ እግረኛው የኢትዮጵያ ጦር ደግሞ ሱማሌውን እግር በ’ግር እየተከተለ መግቢያ ያሳጣው ነበር። ከአየር ኃይል አብራሪዎች መካከል እነሜ/ጄነራል አምሃ ደስታ፣ ሜ/ጄነራል ፋንታ በላይ፣ ኮ/ል አስማረ ጌታሁን የምስራቅ ዕዝ ዋና አዛዥ ደምሴ ቡልቶ እና ሌሎች… ከምንም በላይ ደግሞ በዚህ ጦርነት ላይ ህይወታቸውን እና አካላቸውን ያጡ በርካታ ኢትዮጵያውያን፤ ለኢትዮጵያ ሲሉ ከየመን የመጡ መድፈኞች እና የኩባ ወታደሮች ጭምር፤ የከፈሉትን መስዋዕትነት ለአንድ አፍታም ቢሆን ልንዘነጋው አይገባም – ክብር ለነሱ ይሁን።
ኦጋዴን እና አካባቢው “ራሴን አስተዳድራለሁ” ብሎ ስራ መጀመሩ ደስ ያሰኛል እንጂ፤ ማንንም አያስቆጣም። ነገር ግን አሁን ያለው አይነት ጥላቻ፤ የአንድ መጥፎ ነገር አመላካች ነው። ሌላው ኢትዮጵያ ለዚያ አካባቢ ህዝብ የከፈለውን መስዋዕትነት ዋጋ የማንሰጠው ከሆነ፤ በርግጥም ችግር አለ ማለት ነው። አንዳንድ የሱማሌ ኢትዮጵያ ሰዎች ሌላውን ብሄር እንዲህ የሚጠሉት ከሆነ፤ “ምናለበት ታላቂቱ ሶማልያ በገዛችን ኖሮ?” የሚል አንደምታን ይፈጥራል።
በኦጋዴን ወይም በሱማሌ ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ የብሄር ብሄረሰቦችን ቀን ሲከበር፤ በአካባቢው ያሉትን የኦሮሞ ተወላጆች በማቀፍ በልዩነት ውስጥ አብረው መኖራቸው እንደጥሩ ምሳሌ ማሳየት ይቻል ነበር። በብሄር ብሄረሰቦች በአል ሰበብ… ሌላውን ህዝብ ከመሳደብ ይልቅ፤ ስለመስዋዕትነቱ ማመስግን ምንም ክፋት የለውም። ህዝብን ማመስገን ባንችል እንኳን፤ ምናል አምላካችንን ብናመሰግን? አምላክን በትንሹ ማመስገን ካልቻልን ያለንን ያሳጣናልና ተመስገን ማለትን እንወቅበት።
የማመስገን ነገር ከተነሳ አንድ የስንብት ታሪክ እናውጋ።
እኚህ ሰው… በኢትዮ-ሶማልያ ጦርነት ወቅት የኢትዮጵያ አየር ኃይል አብራሪ ነበሩ። በአየር ላይ ሆነው፤ የሱማሌ ተዋጊ ጀቶች ከፊት እና ከኋላ ሲመጡባቸው፤ በአየር ላይ እየተታኮሱ ቆይተው እሳቸው አቅጣጫቸውን ቀይረው ሲምዘገዘጉ፤ ሁለቱ የሱማሌ የጦር ጀቶች እርስ በርስ እንዲጋጩ አድርገው… ጸጥ አሰኝተዋቸዋል። እኚህ የአየር ኃይል አብራሪ በኋላ ላይ የሚያበሩት ጀት ተመትቶ እሳቸው በፓራሹት ወርደው ህይወታቸው ተረፈ። ሆኖም በሱማሌዎች መማረካቸው አልቀረም። ከሌሎች በሺህ የሚቆጠሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን ጋር በሱማሊያ እስር ቤት ለአስራ አንድ ከታሰሩ በኋላ ተፈቱ። በእስር ህይወታቸው ያጋጠማቸውን ነገር ሲያጫውቱን እንዲህ አሉ።
“የታሰርኩት በአንድ ጉድጓድ ውስጥ ነው። እጅ እና እግሬ በካቴና ታስሯል። ከላይ ጣርያው ስለተሸፈነ የጸሃይ ሙቀትን እንጂ ብርሃኗን አይቼ አላውቅም። ወደውጭ የሚያወጡኝ ከጨለመ በኋላ በመሆኑ፤ ቀስ በቀስ የአይኔ ብርሃን ደከመ። እንዳልሞት ያህል ጥቂት ምግብ እና ውሃ ይሰጠኝ ነበር። በዚህ አይነት ለብዙ አመታት ስቆይ አምላኬን አማርሬው አላውቅም። አንድ ቀን ግን አምላኬን አማረርኩት። ‘ለምን እንዲህ ታሰቃየኛለህ?’ ብዬ በአምላኬ ላይ አዘንኩበት። የዚያኑ ቀን የነበርኩበትን እስር ቤት ለመጎብኘት አንድ የሱማሌ ወታደራዊ መኮንን መጣ። መኮንኑ እንደመጣ… እኔ ከጨለማው እስር ቤት እንድወጣ አዘዘ። ከዚያም እጅ እና እግሬ እንደታሰረ እሱ ፊት ቀረብኩ። የሱማሌው መኮንን እጅ እና እግሬ የታሰረበትን ሰንሰለት አይቶ ተቆጣ።”
“እንደዚህ አይነት ከፍተኛ እስረኛ እንዲህ ነው የሚታሰረው?” ብሎ አፈጠጠባቸው። አሳሪ ወታደሮች ግራ በመጋባት ዝም አሉ። እኔም አምላኬ ለቅሶዬን ሰማ። በእጆቼ እና በእግሬ ላይ የታሰረው ሰንሰለት ሊፈታልኝ ነው።” ብዬ ደስ አለኝ።
“የጦር መኮንኑ ቁጣውን ሳይቀንስ ሰንሰለቱን ፍቱ።” አላቸው። ከብዙ አመታት በኋላ ሰንሰለቱ ተፈታልኝ። የሱማሌው መኮንን አሁንም እየተቆጣ… “እንዲህ አይነት ከፍተኛ እስረኛ የሚታሰረው እንደዚህ ነው።” ብሎ… ቀኝ እጄን፣ ከቀኝ እግሬ ጋር፤ ግራ እጄን ደግሞ ከግራ እግሬ ጋር እንዲታሰር አዘዘ፤ እንደትእዛዙም ሆነ። በዚህ አይነቱ አዲስ አስተሳሰር… ቢያንስ ቆሜ እሄድ የነበርኩት ሰው አጎንብሼ ቀረሁ። በፊት እጅና እግር ለየብቻ በታሰሩበት ወቅት እንደልቤ እተኛ ነበር። አሁን ግን ለመተኛትም ተቸገርኩ። በፊት የነበረው አስተሳሰር ናፈቀኝ። ያንን ሁሉ አመት ስታሰር አንድም ቀን አምላኬን አማርሬው የማላውቀው ሰው፤ አሁን እርሜን አንድ ቀን ባማርር የባሰ ነገር መጣብኝ።” በማለት… ሰው ባለው ነገር ማመስገን እንዳለበት አስተምረውናል።
እኚህ በሱማሌ ጦርነት ወቅት ለአገራቸው ትልቅ ውለታ የሰሩ የኢትዮጵያ አየር ኃይል አብራሪ ታደለ ይባላሉ። (የአየር ኃይል ማዕረጋቸውን አላውቀውም) ከ11 አመታት እስር በኋላ ከሱማሊያ እስር ቤት ተፈትተው አገራቸው ከገቡት ኢትዮጵያዊ አንዱ ናቸው። ለ11 አመታት ብርሃን ባለማየታቸው የአይናቸውን ብርሃን ሊያጡ ተቃርበው፤ በህክምና ነገሮች ወደነበሩበት ተመልሰውላቸዋል።
እኚህ አብራሪ ከእስር ቤት ከወጡ በኋላ አንድ ልጅ ወለዱ፤ ስሙንም “በፀጋው” አሉት። ሃያ ምናምን አመታት ተቆጠረ። በፀጋው ታደለ ኢትዮጵያ አድጎ ለትምህርት ወደ አትላንታ መጥቶ፤ በታዋቂው ሞርሃውስ ዩኒቨርስቲ ሲመረቅ፤ ከትምህርት ቤቱ በሙሉ ከፍተኛ ነጥብ በማስመዝገቡ፤ ድንቅ ተማሪ ተብሎ… ሁሉንም ተማሪ በመወከል ንግግር ያደረገው እሱ ነበር። በእለቱ እንግዳ ሆነው የተገኙት የአሜሪካው ፕሬዘዳንት ባራክ ኦባማ ንግግራቸውን ከመጀመራቸው በፊት፤ መምህራኑን አመሰገኑ። ለዚህ ኢትዮጵያዊ ወጣት አድናቆታቸውን ለገሱት።
ስለሱማሌ እስር ቤት አስከፊነት እና ስለጭካኔያቸው አቶ ታደለ ከማንም የበለጠ አደባባይ ወጥተው መናገር ይችላሉ። እሳቸው ግን ያለፈውን እንዳለፈ ትተው፤ አዲስ ህይወት በመጀመራቸው ራሳቸው ተከብረው፤ ሌላውን ኢትዮጵያዊ የሚያስከብር ልጅ ለትውልድ አስረከቡ።
በሌላ በኩል ደግሞ ኦጋዴን ወይም የኢትዮጵያ ሱማሌ ከሽግግር መንግስቱ ግዜ ጀምሮ እስካሁን አስር የክልል ፕሬዘዳንቶች ተፈራርቀውባታል። ከነዚህ ፕሬዘዳንቶች መካከል አንዱ በኢትዮጵያ እና ሶማልያ ጦርነት ወቅት የሶማልያ አየር ኃይል ባልደረባ የነበረና ኢትዮጵያን በአየር ሲደበድብ የነበረ ሰው ነው። አንበሳው የኢትዮጵያ ጦር ተጠናክሮ በመጣበት ወቅት… በፋፈም ሸለቆ በኩል አድርገው ወደ ሃርጌሳ ይሮጡ የነበሩ ሰዎች ዛሬ ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ተመልሰው፤ በብሄር ብሄረሰቦች በአል ሽፋን ሌላውን እየሰደቡት ነው። እንዲህ አይነቱ አሳፋሪ ተግባር የማይደገም ስለመሆኑ ምንም ዋስትና የለንም። እነሱ ሌላውን ደገኛ፣ የመሃል እና የዳር አገር ሰዎች እያሉ የጥላቻ መርዝ ሲነሰንሱ፤ የኛ ጉልበታችን እውነትን መናገር ነው፤ ታሪክን ማስተማር ነው።
በመሆኑም በኦጋዴን ወይም በሱማሌኢትዮጵያ ክልል ውስጥ… ለአንደኛው ብሄር ወይም ለሌላው ሃይማኖት ሳይሉ… ለኢትዮጵያ ድንበር መከበር እና ለህዝቡ አንድነት ብለው የህይወት መስዋዕት ለከፈሉት ጀግኖች ሁሉ ኢትዮጵያዊ አክብሮት አለን። ስለነሱ ክብር… በጨዋ ኢትዮጵያዊነት ራሳችንን ዝቅ እናደርጋለን… እንደየእምነታችንም በህሊናችን እናስታውሳቸዋለን። እናም ክብር እና ማዕረግ ለነሱ ይሁን።

የችግሮቻችን የመፍትሔ ቁልፍ – ወያኔን አስወግዶ ፍትህን ማስፈን

አሁንም በሳውዲ አረቢያ እና አካባቢው አገሮች የሚገኙ ወገኖቻችን የድረሱን ጥሪዎች እያሰሙ ነው። የወገኖቻችን ዋይታና ሰቆቃ አልበረደም። ዛሬም እህቶቻን እየተደፈሩ፣ እየተዋረዱ፣ እየተገደሉ ናቸው። በጥጋብ አገር ውስጥ ሆነው ኢትዮጵያዊያን ሕፃናት በረሀብና በጥም እየሞቱ ነው። በርካታ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ለከፋ የአዕምሮ ህመም እየተዳረጉ ነው።
በተለያዩ የዓለም አገራት የሚገኙ ኢትዮጵያዊያን በመካከለኛው ምሥራቅ የሚገኙ ወገኖቻቸውን ሕመም እየታመሙ፤ ስቃያቸውን እየተሰቃዩ ይገኛሉ። አስቸኳይ እርዳታ ለማድረስም አቅማቸው የቻለውን ሁሉ ለማድረግ በመረባረብ ላይ ናቸው።
ባለፉት ጥቂት ሣምንታት ኢትዮጵያዊያን ባደረጓቸው ብርቱ ጥረቶች ጥቂት አበረታች ውጤቶች ተገኝተዋል። ከደረሰባቸው የመብት ረገጣ ጋር ፈጽሞ ተመጣጣኝ ባይሆንም ቢቢሲን ጨምሮ አንዳንድ የዓለም ዓቀፍ የዜና አውታሮች በወገኖቻችን ላይ ስለሚደርሰው በደል እንዲዘግቡ ማድረግ ተችሏል። እስካሁን ምን ያህል ወገኖቻችን እድሉን እንዳገኙ ማረጋገጥ ባይቻልም የሳውዲ መንግሥት ሙሉ የትራንስፓርት ወጪ ችሎ ወገኖቻችን ማጓጓዝ ጀምሯል። ዓለም ዓቀፍ የሰብዓዊ መብት ጥበቃ ድርጅቶች ለኢትዮጵያዊያን መብት መከራከር ጀምረዋል።
በአንፃሩ ግን አሁንም ሕሊናን የሚረብሹ ነገሮች እየተሰሙ ነው።
ከሳውዲ እየታፈሱ የመን ድንበር ላይ የተጣሉ፤ የደረሱበት የማይታወቁ ኢትዮጵያን ቁጥር በየእለቱ እየጨመረ ነው። እነዚህ ወገኖቻችን በየመን በረሀ ላይ የሚደርስባቸው ሰቆቃ ሳውዲ ውስጥ ከነበረው የባሰ ነው።
አሁንም በሳውዲ ተደብቀው የሚገኙ፤ “እጃቸውን ለመንግሥት ሰጥተው” እንደ ወንጀለኛ በእስር ቤቶች የሚማቅቁ በአስር ሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ ኢትዮጵያዊያን አሉ። እነዚህ ወገኖቻችን ያሉበት ሁኔታ ሕሊና ሊሸከመው ከሚችል በላይ ነው።
ከዚህ ሁሉ በላይ ኢትዮጵያዊያንን እየረበሸ ያለው የወያኔ ባህርይ ነው።
ወያኔ በእንዲህ ዓይነት የመከራ ወቅትም በወገኖቻችን ላይ ዘርፈ ብዙ ንግድ እያጧጧፈ ነው። በሳውዲ አረቢያ መንግሥት ወጪ የተመለሰሉትን ወገኖቻችን ለምርጫ ቅሰቀሳ ፕሮፖጋንዳ ሥራ እየተጠቀሙባቸው መሆኑ ሳያንስ ለእለት ጉርስ የሚሰጣቸው የእርዳታ ገንዘብ በወያኔ እየተዘረፉ ነው። ገንዘብ ባለበት ሁሉ ወያኔ አለ። ወያኔ ለተመላሽ ስደተኞች የእለት ጉርስ የተሰጠውንም እርዳታ እየቀማ የሚበላ እኩይ ኃይል ነው።
ድሆች ኢትዮጵያዊያን ወደ አረብ አገራት ሲሰደዱ ለወያኔ ድርጅቶች ገንዘብ ከፍለው ነው። እዚያ በነበሩበት ጊዜም ለወያኔ ገንዘብ እንዲከፍሉ ይደረግ ነበር። በግፍ ተፈናቅለው፤ ሀብታቸው ተዘርፎ ባዶ እጃቸውን ሲመለሱም ለወያኔ የእርዳታ ገንዘብ መለመኛ ሆነዋል። ወያኔ በድሆች ኢትዮጵያዊያን ድህነት የሚከብር በታሪካችን ውስጥ ታይቶ የማይታወቅ ስግብግብ ነው። ወያኔ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ፈጽሞ ሊጠየፉት የሚገባ ነው ስብስብ ነው።
ግንቦት 7: የፍትህ፣ የነፃነትና የዲሞክራሲ ንቅናቄ በችግር ላይ የሚገኙ ወገኖቻችንን ከመርዳት ጎን ዓይኖቻችንን ከወያኔ እንዳንነቅል በአጽንዖት ያሳስባል። ወያኔ ከሥልጣን ሳይወገድ ችግሮቻችንን መፍታት አንችልም። የኢትዮጵያዊያን ችግሮች ለወያኔ የገቢ ምንጮች ናቸና ወያኔ እስካለ ድረስ ችግሮችን መፍጠሩና ማስፋፋቱ አይቀርም።
የኛ የኢትዮጵያዊያን ችግሮች የመፍትሔ ቁልፍ ያለው ወያኔን በማስወገድ ፍትሀዊ አመራር ማስፈን ላይ በመሆኑ የጋራ ትኩረታችን እዚያ ላይ እንዲሆን ግንቦት 7 ያሳስባል።

DIALOGUE AND NEGOTIATION: FOR WHAT AND HOW?

It was on December 2 of this year that the Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT) broadcast the breaking news that the ruling party has extended its intention for negotiation with Ginbot 7 Movement for Justice, Freedom and Democracy.  ESAT has made a very brief but quite important follow up by conducting an interview with Dr. Berhanu Nega, Chairman of Gibot 7.   And this was followed by another very brief interview conducted by Solomon Kifle of the VOA of Amharic Service with Dr. Berhanu Nega. As the news has become extensively engaging and interesting (as it should be), EAST’s journalists have conducted discussions about their own impressions and tried to reflect their analyses from their own perspectives. Interestingly enough, ESAT has continued inviting those professionals and activists who wanted to express their own observations, impressions and analytical arguments. ESAT as a team in general and those journalists who are directly involved in particular truly deserve sincere appreciation. Great job!!
I truly believe that this kind of news should not be taken just as any other news and views. It is the news that holds a very serious political issue that requires a very deep, rational, objective and critical consideration and engagement; not just extensive but very emotional and shallow talks about talks.
On the contrary, the so-called state minister of the Government’s Communication Affairs Office, Shemels Kemal has as usual continued playing his role of extremely stupid way of miscommunication. I strongly believe and argue that it has to unequivocally be expressed that it is gravely disgraceful and embarrassing not only to the Ethiopian people but also to the ruling party itself to keep this type of person who is suffering from an incredible level of self- degraded state of mind in that position at the expense of the innocent Ethiopian tax payers money. I am not asking why he should not be trustworthy which is not of course the very nature and behavior of the ruling party to which he belongs. Not at all! What I am saying is that this guy has no sense of any ordinary norm or any elementary sense of self-discipline leave alone to represent the government at that level of responsibility. And we really should be worried about our country and her great people being under a ruling party full of political cadres such as Kemal who have never speak their minds, but have sold their souls and minds just for feeding their voracious bodily appetites.  I do not know what else can be one of the very clear testimonies of the very dirty political game of the ruling party if the “sate minister” Shemeles Kemal’s empty-mindedness, being not only a very simple speaking tool of his bosses but a tool with a very dysfunctional system is not the case in point.  I wish I could have better words to describe the way those cadres continue to behave and act. Unfortunately, that is the way it is!
I strongly argue that the more we encounter this kind of political idiocy, the more we need to not only be concerned but to be willing and able to interpret our words into deeds and get ready to deal with it accordingly. We cannot afford   to continue the very senseless question of “why Kemal and many of his cronies continue playing not only just stupid way of communication but most seriously dangerous political game?” We sincerely need to ask ourselves, “When and how we need to turn our slogan of ENOUGH IS ENOUGH into a powerfully concrete way of doing things?”
Any-how, what we should really be very mindful and courageous enough is on the question of for what purpose is dialogue and negotiation? What are the core principles that should not be compromised at all? What kind of give and take we should expect in the process of negotiation? Should the process be inclusive, not exclusive? Are we dealing with a party (government) that has either a history of credibility and courageous enough to learn from its horrible attitude and practice during its past 21 years? Is the ruling party that has been characterized by the very deep-rooted political conspiracy and tyrannical behavior and practice now ready to be a partner of peaceful resolution? And above all, is the ruling party ready to show its seriousness by taking some steps which reverse the very terrible politically motivated measures which grossly violated its own constitution? How we deal with engaging in dialogue and negotiation with a ruling party that always raise the question of being obedience to the constitution that has been used simply to attack innocent citizens who peacefully oppose the very ill-guided political system? And I strongly believe that the way Ginbot 7 responded to the said request from the ruling party is very appropriate as far as the very political reality in our country is concerned. Yes, the very essence and purpose of engaging in a political dialogue and negotiation with the ruling party should firmly geared towards the genuine realization of national reconciliation. Needless to say, the Ethiopian people cannot afford to entertain the political dialogue and negotiation that is vulnerable to the very dirty political drama of the ruling party which subsequently could take them back to square one , the story of things fall apart and our decry an endless dehumanization or untold suffering.
There is no doubt that genuine dialogue and negotiation is possible if it is accompanied by:

• A real sense of respect for human rights/dignity. Is there any sign from the ruling party in this respect? The answer is absolutely negative at least at this point in time. Will the ruling party show some sort of change in this respect and make the very intention and purpose of its request for dialogue and negotiation with not only Ginbot 7 but also with all other genuinely concerned stake holders? This is the big question we have to deal with.
• It goes without saying that it is extremely disingenuous to claim oneself as a true partner of dialogue and negotiation and subsequently peaceful resolution while keeping those innocent journalists , peaceful political opposition party members /supporters, those who decry the very dirty political intervention in religious affairs by a politically orchestrated charges and rulings. I want to believe that the ruling party knows that it has committed and continued to committing all this politically motivated crimes for nothing but to stay in power by any means. Now, the question is; is the ruling elites trying hard to come back to their common human sense and ready to take some kind of courageous steps in this regard at this time in point or ….?  This is the serious and genuine question one has to deal with when it comes to the issue of dialogue and negotiation. I think that is the approach Ginbot 7 is talking about.
• It is absurd to talk about the effectiveness of political dialogue and negotiation in a situation where freedom of expression, freedom assembly and the right to organize peaceful protests are absolutely crashed by the ruling circle. I understand all aspects and details of a dialogue and negotiation are not expected to be public before they reached their final stages. However, the role of independent and free media is indispensable in informing the public and help the shape and reshape public opinion about what is going on and what is expected. Peaceful demonstrations and political gatherings equally have crucial roles in expressing the very interest of the people to see a dialogue and negotiation being in line with achieving their desirable common goals/destiny.  It is self-evident that the ruling party is not only not intersected but, very unfortunately, uses its crashing machine to silence all kinds of peaceful movements which stand against its extremely ill-guided political agenda and practice. Is the ruling party extending its request for dialogue and negotiation with a real sense of considering all those ugly political games or with the same nasty and fake way of doing things? To be seen?

I want to conclude by saying that it will be naive enough for us to expect the ruling party to change itself into a genuine partner of dialogue and negotiation as well as peaceful settlement of our serious political differences without our more serious engagements that will be bring about a powerful influence on the balance of power. This includes engaging ourselves in a substantive, analytical, rational/objective and far-sighted/forward-looking arguments and conversations whenever issues such as the one we are talking about arise
