Ethiopia: Police Foil Plan to Attack Addis Ababa Airport

Note: Do not forget reading Wikileaks’ files below ”Recent Bombings Blamed on Oromos Possibly the Work of Government of Ethiopia” and “Ethiopia Bombs Itself, Blames Eritrea
Aug 17, 2013, Addis Ababa (All africa)— The Ethiopian federal police said on Friday that they have uncovered explosive devices planted inside, Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, averting a major tragedy.
Two explosives were found around the departure terminal of the country’s largest airport targeting the hundreds of passengers waiting to fly.
The incident created panic among passengers and caused a delay in flights until bomb disposal experts were able to dismantle the devices, which are believed to have been home made, and cleared the rest of the area for other explosive devices.
It is not clear how the attackers managed to pass the number of security check points at the airport.
A police official told Sudan Tribune that the nature of the attack is under investigation and it is yet to be determined if the attempt was a terrorist attack.
“It is safe now and no more threats. There is nothing to worry” about the source, who requested anonymity, said.
Airport authorities have placed the international airport on high alert with a heavy security presence.
Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is among Africa’s three busiest hubs.

Wikileaks Ethiopia Files: Ethiopia Bombs Itself, Blames Eritrea

by Thomas C. Mountain
Foreign Policy Journal | September 16, 2011

Recently released Wikileaks Ethiopia files expose how Ethiopian security forces planted 3 bombs that went off in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on September 16, 2006 and then blamed Eritrea and the Oromo resistance for the blasts in a case that raises serious questions about the claims made about the bombing attempt against the African Union summit earlier this year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In a report  from 2006 marked “Secret ; Subject: Ethiopia: Recent Bombings Blamed on Oromos Possibly the Work of GOE [Government of Ethiopia]” “Classified By: Charge [d’Affairs] Vicki Huddleston”, “An embassy source, as well as clandestine reporting, suggests that the bombing may have in fact been the work of the GoE security forces.” (Cable reference id: #06ADDISABABA2708.)
At the time, the western media reported the Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) claims that the bombs were “part of a coordinated terror attack by the OLF [Oromo Liberation Front, the oldest national  liberation movement in Ethiopia] and  Sha’abiya (Eritrea) aimed at disrupting democratic development”.
The Wikileaks report goes on, “a typically reliable information source” who “contacted Post to report that” the bodies of three men found at the bomb sites “had been picked up by police a week prior, kept in detention and tortured. He said police then left the men in a house and detonated explosives nearby, killing 3 of them.”
This exposes the history of how the Ethiopian regime has planted bombs and then blamed Eritrea and the Ethiopian resistance. The lies that make up the official version of this alleged terrorist attack raises serious questions about the credibility of the recently released report by the UN via its US State Department affiliate, the Monitoring Group for Eritrea and Somalia, which blames the Eritreans and the OLF for the January bombing attempt at the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Identical lies about a nearly identical “terrorist attack”, all accepted as fact by the western media. This should also deliver another body blow to the Obama White House and its claims that Eritrea supports terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
So once again the bellowing against Eritrea by the USA and it lackeys at the UN going back to 2006 is exposed as complete bunkum and an identical frame up of Eritrean and the Oromo resistance in Ethiopia that has been regurgitated by the UN and its truth challenged Monitoring Group on Eritrea and Somalia must be subject to a more critical scrutiny. Based on this expose’ it can only be hoped that the UN inSecurity Council, which has yet to decide whether to pass severe sanctions against Eritrea, will refrain from doing so.

Junedin Sado, FormJunedin Sado, an Ethiopian politician and former governor of the state of Oromia was killed by Woyyanee under cover agents in Robbii, Shewa when he secretly returned to the country from Kenya.

He was thrown out of the EPRDF government due to his disagreement with certain policies that the ruling government imposed on the governing system and alleged accusation of involvement in his wife, Habibe Muhammad’s plot of terrorism in the country.

Sources haven’t confirmed his death but eye witnesses are saying, he was killed in Robbii , Shewa when he secretly returned back to the country in July, 2013 after fleeing to Nairobi, Kenya with 8 other colleagues. Junadin was president of the Oromia region from 28 October 2001 until 6 October 2005 when he was replaced by Abadula Gemeda.

During his government, he was a share holder in killing and arresting, thousands of Oromo students in many parts of the region. The Oromo diaspora community had repeatedly warned him to stop working with this government, but he refused and continued his atrocities against his own people, but at the end, he lost his life at the very hands of the people, he served for so many years.

Junadin subsequently was appointed Transport and Communication Minister, which is the office he was holding when Prime Minister Meles Zenawi moved him to the Science and Technology Ministry October 2008. Following the 2010 general election, Junedin was appointed Minister of Civil Service.

Ethiopian government eliminated him from the position of ministers when he subsequently rose his disagreement with the government.

We show condolence to the families who lost their son, and tell the families who lost their children during his administration that one way or another, justice has reached your house.

Who must be the next round of death who is seriously against the Oromo working with and claimed to be the husband of Azeb Mesfin??? Who is the next servant in line for death? A.  Abdulaziz Mohammed,  B. Abba Dula,  C. Alamayehu Atomsa,  D.Muktar Kedir

Houstonians show solidarity with Ethiopian-Muslims

Muslim-Ethiopian Rally in Houston

Ethiopians brazen the hot sun in Houston to show their solidarity with their Muslim brethrens in Ethiopia, who have been standing up to the Woyanes every Friday for over a year. The Ethiopian regime arrested a number of Muslim leaders in an effort to silence them. Their protest stems from government attempt to appoint their leaders and to force them to follow a brand of Islam that the government prefers.

The Woyane’s hope to divide and conquer Muslim Ethiopians failed miserably. The motto of “united we stand and divided we fall” is abundantly clear among all Ethiopians, but for Muslims, it is part of the religion as observed by Malcolm X during his visit to Mecca.
Malcolm X said Islam is a religion that “erases from its society the race problem” and one that generates overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races. During his visit to Mecca, he was able to eat from the same plate, drink from the same glass, and slept on the same rug – while praying to the same God – with fellows whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was the whitest of white. This was unknown to him in Jim Crow infested America then. He felt comfortable among white Muslims, among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan and Ghana.
The Woyanes can learn from Islam to let and let live in peace with everybody or get consumed by the hate and division they created. Thanks To Muslim Ethiopians, that the table is turning against the Woyane scheme of divide and conquer.
With worldwide solidarity gaining support among Christians and all faiths, the Ethiopian people will prevail against Woyane and may at last live and let leave in peace instead being consumed by Woyane engineered  hate and division. Following the path of Woyanes will generate  economic and political misery and chaos for all Ethiopians save  Woyane, EFORT and their cronies.
The Ethiopian people deserve peace and hope instead of fear and uncertain future. The Ethiopian Muslims are paving the way by taking the risk to confront the Woyanes and we have a god given duty to lend them financial, moral and political support for the sake of Ethiopia.

Lies and Liars: Ethiopia’s despotic leaders

by Najib Mohammed
In the West, we are accustomed to hearing politicians lie to serve their interest and fulfill their ego. For example, when two politicians are running for an office and one tells the truth and the other lies by saying  what the public wants to hear, the one who says what the public wants to hear wins the election. Therefore, it is expected that if one wants to win an election, one better lie, because the guy who’s telling the truth doesn’t have a chance of winning. Yes, there are extreme cases when leaders in the West lie and mislead their people in order to send their army to execute wars outside their borders for which they usually get exposed and pay dearly with their reputation and honor. However, they would never lie to declare war or to incite violence between the different religious or ethnic segment of their population as it is the case in Ethiopia.May the Almighty Allah bring justice and peace to Ethiopia
Ethiopia’s despotic leaders do not need to lie to win elections. They steal elections. In fact, the election they hold is but to lie and mislead the international public opinion. They believe that since they came to power through the barrel of the gun they must stay in power by the same gun. They lie when they want to cover-up murders or plan to murder their own people. They always plot and plan to create instability to stay in power. They tightly control every faucets of their people’s life including their religious practices. Divide and rule is the easiest and obvious method they deploy to stay in power.  Time and again we have witnessed the Ethiopia government use ethnicity to incite interethnic conflicts to dislocate Ethiopian from one region or another. Now, Ethiopians of different ethnic groups have rejected to play the ethnic card, the government is resorting to the most heinous and dangerous card of religion.
Though for the last two years the official government media was waging the propaganda war against the Muslim population to create fear and apprehension among the Christians and did not succeed, the threat and the fear mongering has become the duty of the higher office holder in the country.
Right after the crackdown on peaceful Ethiopian Muslims who were out celebrating the end of Ramadan, and before the blood of those who were massacred by the government forces at Kofele, Oromia dries, the prime minister of Ethiopia, Ato Haile Mariam, gave an interview blaming the innocent victims of the brutal unprovoked crackdown of being terrorist who are bent in destabilizing the country.  Thank God for social media. The world witnessed the innocent victims whom the Prime Minister called terrorists. Women, men, the young and the elderly even pregnant women who were out celebrating fell victims of the crackdown. In fact, he threatened to take harsher measures to kill, maim, and incarcerate more innocent people who dare to demand their constitutional rights.  Amnesty International reported the crackdown the same day urging the Ethiopian Government to respect the human right of the people.
One would think that when the leader of a country appears on national TV on a holiday, it is either to congratulate the country on the happy occasion or to inform the people of an emergency. Both situations were present for Prime Minister Hailemariam. The occasion of Eid AlFitr holiday and the massacre that took place in Kofele, Oromia and Addis Ababa and the rest of the country right after the Eid prayers. These occasions would have warranted the Prime Minister to congratulate the people on Eid and express his sincere apology for the atrocities committed by his security forces. Instead, the Prime Minister went on TV and with straight face lied to the public and shamefully blamed the innocent men and women, young and old victims of the brutal crackdown.
Once, I read an article about the prime minister of Ethiopia, Ato Hailemariam that he is a religious person who wakes up early in the morning and spends at least 30 minutes praying to God before going to his office. Is it perhaps he gets up early to get 30 minutes instruction of how to mislead his people?  I wonder how he will answer the God he is praying to when He asks him about the outright lies he uttered about Ethiopian Muslims and why as a leader he approves the killing and maiming of the innocent. As I was listening to the Prime

Azeb Mesfin lost TPLF’s cash cow

by Abebe Gellaw
The Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) has quietly removed the late dictator’s widow Azeb Mesfin from the helm of EFFORT as Chief Executive Officer a few months after her husband’s demise, it emerged.
Azeb, widely known as the ‘Queen of Mega’ and ‘mother of corruption’Azeb, widely known as the ‘Queen of Mega’ and ‘mother of corruption’ among Ethiopians, had snatched  the reins of  power within the Endowment Fund for the Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) from her bitter rival Sibehat Nega and Abadi Zemo. She was once the de facto second in command in her husband’s tyrannical regime.
The new boss appointed to as the Chief Executive Office (CEO) of TPLF’s multi-billion dollars business empire and corruption cash cow emerged to be Berhane Kidane Mariam Yihdego, a Central Committee member of the TPLF. According to informed sources, Berhane is a close confidant and business partner of Sebhat Nega, a multi-millionaire in his own right like most members of the TPLF ruling class.
Berhane, who enjoys multiple high profile positions as a privileged TPLF loyalist, was the former General Manager of TPLF’s propaganda mouthpiece Walta Information Center from 2006 up to last year. Besides being the President of the nepotistic and corruption-plagued Ethiopian Olympics Committee (EOC), he sits on the boards of Wegagen Bank, which is also owned by the TPLF, and Mekele University. The new EFFORT chief also claims to be the founder and Deputy Board Chairman of a private company called “Ethiopian Quality Award Organization,” according to his CV obtained by Addis Voice.
TPLF’s move to replace Azeb with the new loyalist was confirmed by Berhane himself who recently sent an updated CV and a profile to the Switzerland-based Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), where he represents Ethiopia as EOC president. In his profile posted on ANOC’s website, he listed his current professional position as “Board of Director and Chief Executive Officer of EFFORT Investment Group” since 2012. In spite of the fact that the exact month of his appointment was not mentioned nor made official, the ANOC website indicates that Berhane’s latest profile was updated on May 2, 2013. The French and Spanish versions of his profile web pages also carry exactly the same information.
EFFORT TPLF LOOTING MACHINESWalta reported recently that Berhane Kidanemariam, the new “Director of EFFORT and TPLF CC member conducted a successful meeting with the Diaspora in Seattle.” The meeting, hosted by the Union of Tigrians in North America (UTNA), focused on how EFFORT is implementing its objective of developing Tigray and making it self-reliant, it stated.
Heaping praise on its former boss, Walta promoted the corrupt conglomerate’s new chief as eloquent, persuasive and visionary. “Berhane Kidane Mariam, with his eloquent and persuasive ability, spelled out the objective of his presence in Seattle and explained the development in Tigrai and the role of EFFORT to uplift the hope and aspiration of many Tigrians from poverty to self-reliance,” Walta declared.
