One of the most complicated and unstable places in the world
by its socio-political condition is the horn of Africa .The countries in this
region have gone through trouble chaos
for centuries and the problem is still going on. The Place where my
forefathers live, where I was born and brought up is this region in the county
named Ethiopia .This land locked and the most populated country in the world has
many ethnic groups. Some of the major Ethnic groups are Oromo, Amhara, Sidama,
Tigray and so on their size respectively. Most of the country problem is political
unstability which is based on Ethnic politics and one ethnic group based
political power. When a certain group come in to power somehow they are not
collectively from all ethnic groups instead they are from one ethnic group and
they don’t take into account the rights of another majority or minority ethnic
groups. To ensure and sustain their power position this groups use highly militarized
ruling system and they become a lifelong absolute dictatorships. Currently the
ruling minority junta and military backed Woyane or TPLF are the rebel groups
back from 1960’s seized power in 1991
and ruling the country until today .Originally the mission of this group was to
liberate Tigray but later on it was collaborated with some other forces
including the OROMO LIBRATION FRONT(OLF) and they were able to control the whole nation.
Immediately after they held power, they excluded the Oromos libration front and some else groups. This TPLF
or woyane or current Ethiopian regimes birth place was Tigray and they all were
from Tigray which makes up about only 6% of the population of whole Ethiopia. All the power of the
Government is held by this group who are with the same ethnic back grounds.
Specially, military power and top officials all are from Tigray which is not
acceptable by the rest of country’s ethnic groups. Any criticism or opposition
against the government is suppressed by power without questionings. The
arresting of journalists, opposition party leaders, disappearing of activist
students from colleges and universities, high level of corruption, violence of
human rights and inhumane acts are some of the crimes committed by Tigrian
libration front (TPLF).In 2005 election the ruling regime proved that it was
hited by the public and after that it has taken all the measures to silence
opposition groups or free press. The anti-terrorism law is another technique
which was discovered by TPLF for the first time introduced in 2009 to silence
any opposition or critics. Using this law many journalists, bloggers, students,
religious leaders are arrested since then. The Ethiopian regime attracted the
international community attention by implementing and introducing anti-terror law and by pseudo economic growth
in the country but recently some of the international community realized that
what was been said was not true. Forced displacing native people from their
place in the name of investment and villagization in Gambella , which is west
of the country, ethnic cleasing of Amharas
from Gumuz region and south of Ethiopia ,forced resettlement of the Oromos,
torture of the detainees in prison, human right violation and all other crimes
in Ethiopia commited by this Group with the aid of westerns donation money. The
Government to government donations helped African dictators to live long in their
power while abusing the poor. For instance the forced displacement,
villagization and resettlement programs all supported and funded by world bank.
Other donations which are given by foreign countries to build infrastructures,
public service or to improve education quality were been used to strengthen up
woyanes military power, to buy weapons ,to build torture centers ,prisons, to
enrich people in power and for all corruption. The donors or aid giving group
has no means to see or prove if the money is used for its proper aim or not. We,
young Ethiopians and Ethiopian opposition groups strongly condemn government to
government aid. If the aid is truly aimed to help people or for certain else
objective then, donation should be given to non-government organizations and
there must be tight control over the amount which is given. Also there should
be some sort of cross check if the money spent for the right objective on the
right time. The international community should open its eyes and watch the
current inhumane acts in Ethiopia. We (young Ethiopians and opposition groups)
kindly ask the international community to stop Aid or Donation to Ethiopian
regime. We are the world, we should care for each other. Each of the developed Nations should pay
attention to poor crying voice of Ethiopians. If one nation cares for its
nation, provide democracy, freedom, equality, peace and stability for its
citizens then why does that nation or government support financially or another way the
Government which oppress, kill, torture or commit inhumane acts on its own
people?? Billions of dollars donation
helped Ethiopian dictators to commit crime against their own people and to live
longer in their power. STOP SUPPORTING THE WOYANES {THE GREEDY BEASTS FROM
JUNGLE}.
